Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку "Saint Valentine's Day" . Сценарий. Задания для конкурса.
методическая разработка по английскому языку (8 класс) по теме
Основными задачами данного внеклассного мероприятия являются знакомство учащихся с историей дня св. Валентина, с обычаями и традициями празднования дня в англоязычных странах, с символикой праздника; знакомство с методикой проведения конкурсов, игр, викторин, которые можно провести в рамках празднования этого дня в классе, в школе. Представляется важным привитие интереса к иноязычной культуре, к предмету, а также развитие культуры публичного выступления и преодоление скованности и неуверенности.
Мероиятие включает конкурс (для учащихся 7-8 классов), поддерживается презентациями. Учащиеся 5 - 6 классов выступают с заранее подготовленными стихами и песнями. Учащимся 3-4 классов предложено заранее изготовить Валентинки для всех участников.

Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку "День Святого Валентина"
The course of the event
I. Leader: Dear Friends! Ladies and Gentlemen, Teachers and Students!
You are welcome to our party, dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day, which is always held on February 14th and brings us happiness and good luck.
St. Valentine is one of the popular holidays in Europe, America and now in Russia.
It is the day, when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours, and even the office staff, exchange greetings of affection, undying love, or satirical comment.
So we wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
II. Let’s begin with a presentation which I’ve maid for this day. (7 min)
III. Now we are going to start our competition for The Best Valentines of 2014. We ask all the participants to take their places, (quiet music). Let me introduce our teams: SS#1, SS#2, SS#3.
And this is our honorable jury! Your applause!
Dear participants, remember, that you can get 1 point for every correct answer. I’m sure you won’t get zero. On your tables you can see four sheets with three tasks and a sheet for your answers.
So, let’s start!
IV. Task 1. The Saint Valentine Crossword. You have 5 min to do it. Don’t forget to write your answers in the special list.
V. Task 2 - Study skills. Here you have 2 sheets - 2-A (Secret message) and 2-B (complete the sentences). You have 7 min.
VI. Task 3. Valentine’s Day Quiz (7 min).
VII. Have a little rest and let’s listen to short poems dedicated to this Day. (4 min)

VIII. That’s all. Let our honorable jury check out and summarize our competition for The Best Valentines. While they are doing their work I’d like to offer to your attention a presentation about the symbols of St. Valentine's day. My students are ready to comment it. (7 min).
