„ Books in Оur Life“.

Содержание  

1 Паспорт проекта

Тема проекта: «Книги в нашей жизни».

Предмет: английский язык.

Класс: 5,8

Количество учащихся: 5

Возраст:  11,14 лет

Время работы над проектом: краткосрочный ( январь-февраль)

Форма работы: внеурочная.

Цель проекта: привлечь внимание школьников к значимости чтения и его роли в нашей жизни.

Учебно-педагогические задачи:

- учить применять знания, умения и навыки по предмету в реализации проекта.

- развить у учащихся творческие способности, навыки исследования, умения работать со справочной литературой;

- воспитать у учащихся дух сотрудничества и взаимопонимания;

Мотивация к работе: личный интерес учащихся, самореализация.

Информационно-техническое обеспечение: учащиеся использовали домашний компьютер с доступом в Интернет, сканер, учебную и учебно-методическую литературу, школьную библиотеку.

                               2   Актуальность проекта

     Книга – важнейший источник информации, огромный сгусток энергии и источник человеческого наслаждения. Книги нас  знакомят с чужими странами, рассказывают о привычках, качествах других людей. Благодаря ним, мы расширяем свои знания, лучше понимаем людей, узнаём много нового, интересного для себя, то есть книга нас развивает.
     Но многие люди с этим не согласны и считают, что современные технологии могут вытеснить книгу и она уже больше никогда не потребуется. А зачем книга, когда есть телевизор, радио, интернет? Они обо всём расскажут и всё покажут. Зачем часами сидеть и читать кучу книг, когда можно приятно провести время у телевизора?

   Проблема: нужно ли читать книги современному подростку или брать информацию  из других источников, пользуясь  современными информационными технологиями.

Наш проект поможет современному школьнику понять роль и место книги в жизни. Научит выражать мысли на английском языке.

   Гипотеза: если мы хотим стать образованными людьми, то постоянно должны общаться с книгой.

Ожидаемые результаты:

-повысится  заинтересованность учащихся  в чтении книг не только на русском, но и на английском языке;

 - учащиеся научатся  выражать  мысли на английском языке;

- учащиеся приобретут навыки исследования, научатся работать со справочной литературой и словарями.

-увеличится  количество учащихся, посещающих библиотеку.

Перспективы развития:

-на уроках домашнего чтения знакомиться с произведениями английских и американских  писателей Даниеля Дефо, Джека Лондона, Марка Твена;

-во внеклассной работе инсценировать отрывки из произведений, названных писателей.

3 Этапы работы над проектом.

      1 этап. Организационный

Цель: организация участников на создание проекта

На данном этапе учащиеся выбрали темы работы. Изучили  литературу по данной теме.    Выбор производился  самими  учащимися с учетом   склонностей и интересов. Были выбраны следующие темы:  

1. Сообщение «Книги в нашей жизни»  
2. Исследование «Что мы читаем. Жанры произведений».
3. Исследование «Как мы выбираем книгу?»
4. Исследование «А что читают наши учителя?»
5. Сообщение «Моя любимая книга».
6. Сообщение «Уильям Шекспир».
7. Инсценирование стихотворений о книгах.
8. Подбор  русских и английских  пословиц, высказываний великих людей

о книгах.

9. Исследование – обобщение «Книги в нашей жизни».

Срок реализации: с16 января по 21 января

2 этап. Поисково – исследовательский этап.

Цель: реализация проекта в жизнь

 На этой стадии деятельность учащихся вышла за пределы классной комнаты. Учащиеся взяли интервью у своих одноклассников и учителей, изучили документы, собрали информацию по своей теме.

Срок реализации: с 23января по 4 февраля

     3 этап. Творческий этап.

Цель: развитие творческих способностей учащихся

На данном этапе учащиеся учили стихи наизусть и инсценировали их. Рисовали иллюстрации к любимым произведениям, участвовали во  внеклассном мероприятие «По страницам любимых книг», составляли кроссворд «Сказка» для учащихся 2 класса. Один из способов презентации проекта – выступление участников  с результатами своих исследований перед учащимися 5-8 классов.  

     4 этап. Заключительный. Подведение итогов работы.  

Цель: выявление степени удовлетворенности результатами работы

 Учащиеся провели соцопрос после мероприятий, осуществили рефлексию  и подготовились к выступлению на РМО учителей английского языка.

Сроки реализации: с 16февраля по21 февраля

5 Оценка эффективности и результативности проекта

Работая над проектом,  достигли следующих результатов:

1. повысился интерес учащихся в чтении книг не только на русском, но и на английском языке;
2.  учащиеся научились   выражать  мысли на английском языке;
3. участники проекта приобрели навыки исследования, научились работать со справочной литературой и словарями.

Изучая ответы на социальный опрос, пришли к выводу:

1. 100% опрошенных ответили «да» на вопрос «Понравились ли вам наши мероприятия о книгах?»;
2. 80%-захотели прочитать произведения английских писателей;
3. 90% -. считают   нужным продолжить исследовательские работы на английском языке.

Books in Our Life

      Nowadays it's almost impossible to imagine our life without books. Perhaps, there are more books on our planet than men alive.

      “Books and friends should be few but good,” says an English proverb. “Except a living man there is nothing more wonderful than a book! They teach us and open their hearts to us as brothers,” wrote Charles Kingsley, an English writer of the 19th century.

     Books are one of the greatest wonders in the world. They follow us during all our life. When you read a book you enrich your mind with knowledge. This knowledge will help you in different subjects. People who read many books are very clever. If you read many books you will get a lot of information on many subjects.

     Long before the invention of printing people valued books as treasure troves of the human knowledge and experience. Hand -written manuscripts took months of writing and were collected by and kept in monasteries with utmost care. We can distinguish books between three classes of them.

     Firstly, books on different branches of knowledge, works by brilliant minds of mankind. Secondly,  textbooks, reference books and numerous dictionaries. And at last, books of all kinds and genres to read at leisure.

     Classics should be taken a little at a time. One's understanding of books by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, Mopassan and Balzak depends on one's age and experience.

Serious books are to be read conscientiously and maybe more than once. To a thinking reader they will provide new food for thought every time he rereads it. Many people indulge in reading science fiction, fantasy or detective stories. Of course, there are some advantages and disadvantages of this kind of literature, often referгed to as «easy reading».

     There are a lot of libraries in our country, where we can choose any book we need. Everyone has the right to use public libraries. The librarian is always ready to help you to find a book on any subject, even if you do not know the title of the book you want. Those who know how to use the library catalogue can find the books without consulting the librarian.

   Different people like to read different kinds of books. It depends on one's taste and character. Some people prefer detectives or science fiction. Others like historical books. Girls and women prefer love stories. Children like comics very much.

        Some of modern adolescents don’t like reading books. They prefer watching TV, playing computer games and other kinds of entertainment. I don’t think it’s very good. Books are not only entertainment. They help us in self-education, and also to imagine the future, to look into the past. Books develop our intellect, our soul.

                           My Favourite Book.

      I like reading books a lot. My favourite genre of book is detective stories, and I think, that this genre of books is really very popular. My favourite author is Conon Doyle.

     Arthur Conan Doyle was a great writer. He was born in Scotland into a family of Irish origin. He was a doctor. In 1882 he moved from Scotland to England to set up a practice. His medical knowledge was a great help to him in his detective stories.

     Conan Doyle was one of the first to start the fashion of the detective story. Today the fashion continues with the stories of other writers.

     Conan Doyle created his famous character, Sherlock Holmes, in 1885. Six years later, when Conan Doyle wrote several stories about this detective, the name of Sherlock Holmes became a name that everybody knew. Holmes first appeared in a book called "Study in Scarlet". "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" made him famous all over the world.

     One of the most interesting stories of the book is “Тне Hound of the Baskervilles”.     London at the end of the 19th century. Sherlock Holmes, the world's most famous detective, and his reliable friend, Doctor Watson, are faced with the creepy legend of a monster: a dog that kills the members of the Baskerville family. The family legend seems just like a story until Sir Charles Baskerville dies a strange death. The last Baskerville in the family, Sir Henry Baskerville, comes to England. He is American and he doesn't believe in old stories, but his life is in danger.

     Have you ever read this book? If you haven’t, I recommend you to do it. This book is worth reading.

     Conan Doyle was a famous writer. He became popular because of his love for people. He died in 1930.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (1564—1616)

William Shakespeare is one of the greatest and most famous writers in the world. He was born in 1564 in Stratford - on-Avon. It was a small English town. His father wanted his son to be an educated person and William was sent to the local grammar school. When, as a boy, he studied at school, he had no free time. When he had a break William liked to go to the forest and to the river Avon.

At that time actors and actresses visited Stratford-on-Avon. William liked to watch them. He was fond of their profession and he decided to become an actor.

He went to London. There he became an actor. He began to write plays too. Shakespeare was both an actor and a playwright. In his works Shakespeare described the most important and dramatic events in life. His plays were staged in many theatres, translated into many languages and they made Shakespeare a very popular man.

The writer's most famous plays are "Othello", "King Lear", "Hamlet" and "Romeo and Juliet".

He produced thirty seven plays. He was connected with the best theatres in England for twenty five years.

William Shakespeare wrote a lot of poetry. His poems have been published in many languages. They are well-known. We don't know a lot of facts about Shakespeare's life. We can only guess what kind of man he was, that's why there are many legends about his life.

William Shakespeare died in 1616. His plays are still popular and millions of people admire them.

                           How do you choose a book?

1. I choose books by genre. I love  detective stories and I don't like history books.
2. I only read books that are recommended by friends. I never waste my time on new books that I don't know anything about.
3. The blurb is always worth reading. It's a summary of the plot of the book. It's usually on the back of the book. The blurb is to get your attention, but it doesn't tell you too much.
4. I follow my parents' advice. They know more than I do.
5. I choose a book by the author. I have my favourite authors that I think are worth reading. I don't try new writers very often.
6. I'm not interested in books. I read the books that are on our reading list, because I have to.
7. I look at the pictures on the cover. If they are exciting, I read the book

Research – generalization «Books in our life».

      Having conducted this research, it has been revealed that pupils of our school read books, visit libraries. Especially they like to read fairy tales, adventures and detectives. But thrillers and books of horrors they read seldom. They choose books first of all by a genre and by authors; also they listen to advice of teachers, parents, and friends. But unfortunately among our pupils there are also such pupils who don’t like to read, and they read only because it is necessary according to the school program.

     Some of modern teenagers don’t like reading books. They prefer watching TV, playing computer games and other kinds of entertainment. We don’t think it’s very good.

Reading plays a very important role in the life of people. It educates a person, enriches his intellect and expands his outlook. Besides, books bring pleasure and delight. It's a wonderful way of spending free time. Sometimes we read the same book again and again. Thanks to books we learn to express our thoughts and feelings more exactly. The book is reliable and understanding friend.

   We hope, after having conducted this work we managed to convince our pupils in the benefit of reading of books. We believe that pupils will visit librarys and read books more often.
