Урок-игра "Magic animals' Kingdom"

Игровые моменты на уроках английского языка помогают развивать познавательную активность учащихся, повышают интерес к предмету, вносит разнообразие и эмоциональную окраску в учебную работу на уроке, снимает утомление учащихся, которое может возникнуть при насыщенности урока. Кроме того игры развивают внимание, воображение, чувство коллективизма и взаимопомощи.

Задачи:

1. Активизировать в употребление модального глагола can в речи учащихся.

2. Тренировать устной речи по теме: “Животные”.

3. Практиковать учащихся в аудировании и чтении.

4. Формировать навыки восприятия и понимания связной речи на слух.

5. Актуализировать любовь к живой природе.

6. Повторить тему: “Давайте познакомимся”.

Оборудование: маски, картинки с изображением животных, письмо Незнайки, волшебный текст.

Ход урока

Teacher: Dear children! Today we are going to have an unusual lesson. We are going to visit “the magic animals’ Kingdom”. We shall meet unusual people there. In the Kingdom we’ll meet some difficulties, while going there, and we must be ready to overcome the difficulties.

 Now let’s start our traveling. Good luck! Let’s go, oh, stop, here is the first difficulty. In front of us the gate in the Kingdom, but it’s closed we must guess the colour of key that can open the knock.

Pupil 1: Is it blue?

Teacher: Try to open. Is it blue?

Pupil 2: Is it green?

Teacher: Try to open the knock. Can you?

Pupil 2: No, I can’t. It isn’t green.

Pupil n: Is it grey?

Teacher: May be it’s grey, try to open the knock.

Pupil n: Yes, it is grey.

Teacher: Yes, you are right. It is grey. We have opened the gate, but we can’t come in. We must  tell about ourselves.

Who will start ? Please, Dima, begin.

Pupil 3: My name is Dima. I’m 9. I’m from Russia. I can read and write English.

Teacher:  Now, who is next?

Pupil 4: My name is Ruslan. I’m 10. I’m from Russia. I can jump and swim.

I like to play tag and hide-and- seek.

Pupil n: My name is Ann. I’m 10. I like English. I can speak and read English. I can run but I can’t swim. 

Teacher: You are well done children. So, we’ve got tickets and now we can come in the Kingdom. Oh, look here! What is this in the grass?

Children: It is a letter.

Teacher: Yes! You are right, it is a letter. It is from Neznaika. Let’s listen to what he writes and try to correct his mistakes. It is about the dogs. 

Dogs have four legs. Is it right?

Children: Yes, it is.

Teacher: Dogs have two tails.

Children: No, they can’t.

Teacher: Dogs can fly.

Children: No, they can’t.

Teacher: Dogs can run and swim.

Children: Yes, they can.

Teacher: Dogs cannot jump.

Children: It isn’t true. Dogs can jump.

Teacher: Dogs like to play with the children.

Children: Oh, yes! And we like to play with the dogs.

Teacher: Neznaika can't do his homework. Let’s help him!

Teacher: Very well! You are Super Stars! Let’s continue our trip. Here is a magic river. We can thought the river if we’ll tell a poem. Who will start?

Pupil 2:

Hello, hello, hello to you! 
Hello, hello,
How are you?

Pupil 2:

Spring is green.
Summer is bright.
Autumn is yellow.
Winter is white.

Pupil n:

My pretty doll
Is very small
I love my pretty
Little doll.

Teacher: You are very good pupils. You have attempted this difficulty. And I am sure we can continue our trip. Now, we come to the bank of the river and here are your pictures of the animals. Let’s name and color it. Let’s begin. What is it?

Pupil  6: It is a tiger.

Teacher: What color is the tiger?

Pupil 6:The tiger is brown.

Teacher: What is it?

Pupil 9: It is the fox.

Teacher: And what colour is the fox?

Pupil 9: It is orange.

Teacher: Well, what is it?

Pupil n: It is a bear.

Teacher: Tell me, please, what colour is the bear.

Pupiln n: The bear is white.

Teacher: Nice work! You’ve drawn very beautiful pictures. You are good artists. Now, let’s go, but look here, there are water around us. We can’t go.

Neptune: You are right. You can’t go any more. Do you know who I am?

Children: No, we don’t.

Neptune: Listen to me. My name is Neptune. I am very old. I’m the kind of seas . I live in the sea. I can swim. Now, answer my questions if you want to continue your trip. The first riddle: It is big. It is green. Its tail is long. It can swim. It eats fish and frogs? What is it?

Pupil 3: It is the crocodile.

Neptune: Yes, you are right. The next riddle: It has no tail. It is small. It can jump. It can swim. It is green. What is it?

Pupil 9: It is a frog.

Neptune: Yes, it is. The last riddle: It has no legs. It can not walk. It can swim. It has a small tail. What is it?

Pupil 9: It is a fish.

Neptune: Yes, you are right. You are clever children. Now, you can go farther. Good–bye!

Teacher: I’m proud of you. Nothing can stop you. Look around where are we? It is the land of mathematics. There are several sums, let’s do them (учащиеся по очереди записывают примеры цифрами на доске).

Teacher: Clever work! Let’s have a rest, we’ll do the exercise. Do my commands.

Stand up!
Hands up!
Swim, run, jump, fly!
Hands down!
Sit down!

O.K. We had a rest and now let’s go on. We can’t get the key of the Kingdom. The little magician can give it, if we do some her tasks. Magician, what do you want?

The Magician: Hello, boys and girls! My name is molly. My first task will be.Mmm…, what do I want? Oh, I what the captains to read the text from my magic book Please, come here. What is your name?

The captain 1: My name is Dasha.

The Magician: Well, and what is your name?

The captain 2: My name is Alina.

The Magician: O.K. Alina begin you to read my text (капитаны команд по очереди читают текст из книги). Thank you, Alina, now, Dasha, read you.

Very well. Now I want you perform me a fairy tale. Can you?

Teacher: Children, can we perform the “Turnip?”

Children: Yes, we can (дети показывают сказку “Репка”).

“The Turnip”.

Author: One day grandfather went in the garden and saw a big turnip there.

Grandfather: Oh, what’s a big turnip we have in our kitchen-garden. I want to pull it out (pulls the turnip). One, two, three! Oh, it is too big for me. Granny, come here! Help me please!

Grandmother: All right. I’m coming.

Grandfather, grandmother (pulling together):One, two, three!... One, two, three! (No result). Oh, it’s too big for us!

Grandmother: Granddaughter, granddaughter, yelp us, please!

Granddaughter: All right, I’m coming.

Grandfather, grandmother, granddaughter (pulling together): One, two, three!... One, two, three! (No result). Oh, it’s too big for us!

Granddaughter: Dog, dog, help us, please!

The Dog: All right. I’m coming.

Grandfather, grandmother, granddaughter, the Dog (pulling together): One, two, three!... One, two, three! (No result). Oh, it’s too big for us!

The Dog: Cat, cat, help us, please!

The Cat: All right, Dog. I’m coming.

Grandfather, grandmother, granddaughter, the Dog and the Cat (pulling together): One, two, three!... One, two, three! (No result).

Oh, it’s too big for us!

The Cat: Mouse, Mouse, come here! Help us, please!

The Mouse: All right, cat. I’m coming.

Grandfather, grandmother, granddaughter, the Dog, the Cat and the Mouse (pulling together): One, two, three!... One, two, three! (Fall down).

The Turnip (standing up): Here I am!

All (together): Oh, what’s a big turnip we have.

The Magician: Dear children. I lucky to watch your performance. Now I can give you the key. Good luck!

Well, children. Our trip is going to an end. You are unique today.

You all attempt all “5” marks. Your home task is to tell about animals. You may take your pictures. Our lesson is oven. Good-bye!
