«Рождественские символы»

 (для учащихся начальной школы)

1. Ведущие приветствуют: Good afternoon, dear children and teachers! We’re glad to see you. Christmas is coming. Our students want to tell you about some Christmas symbols.

Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25th of each year. It is the day Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. There are many different customs and traditions around the world.

Angel. An angel told the shepherds of the birth of Jesus. Angels come in many forms for Christmas decorations

 Bells. Church bells rang to announce the birth of Jesus. They still ring today.

Camels. Camels are the animals the wisemen rode following the star to where Jesus was born.

Candles. Candles represent the light that Jesus brought to earth.

Christmas Stocking. There is a legend associated with the origin of Christmas stockings. St. Nick, who wanted to remain anonymous and help a poor family, threw gold coins down their chimney. They fell into a stocking that was hanging there to dry.

Christmas Tree Lights.  The lights represent Christ as being the "Light of the World." Lights also represent stars. Candles were first used as lights on the Christmas tree.

Donkeys, Lambs, and Cows. Donkeys, lambs, and cows were animals close to Jesus at the time of his birth.

Gifts. The first Christmas gifts were given by the Wisemen to Baby Jesus.

Jesus. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Christians believe Jesus is the son of God.

Joseph.  Joseph is the husband of Mary.

Manger. A cow's manger is the place where Baby Jesus slept.

Mary. Mary is the mother of Jesus.

Mince Meat Pie. Mince meat pie is full of spices and fruits. It represents the exotic treasures of the East that the Wisemen brought to Jesus.

Mistletoe. A sprig of evergreen plant hung at Christmas time.

Reindeer. Reindeer were the animals chosen by St. Nicholas to pull his sleigh.. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is the most famous.

Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas was a real person. He was a kind bishop who brought presents to children and needy people.

Shepherds. Shepherds tend sheep. They came to the manger to honor Baby Jesus.

Star. The Star of Bethlehem guided the Three Wisemen to Baby Jesus.

Three Wisemen. Three Kings travelled far to see Jesus. They brought their best treasures for gifts.

Учащиеся рассказывают детям на английском, «переводчик» - на русском.

2. Ребята читают стихотворение «Long, long ago»

Winds through the olive trees  Softly did blow

Round little Bethlehem  Long, long ago.

Sheep on the hillside lay Whiter than snow

Shepherds were watching them Long, long ago.

Then from the happy sky Angels bent low

Singing their songs of joy Long, long ago.

For in a manger bed , Cradled we know,

Christ came to Bethlehem Long, long ago.

3.Первый ведущий: - Who brings you presents on Christmas? (Santa). Let’s send a telegram to Santa Claus. I need 10 adjectives. (Дети называют любые 10 прилагательных, она заполняет телеграмму и зачитывает).

______Santa! All_____students are waiting for your _____coming. Xmas is the most _____holiday in the year. We’re going to sing _____ songs, dance _____dances for you. We really love _____Xmas! We promise to be _____students. Open your _____sack and give us _____presents.

Старшеклассник читает «послание» Санты:

Merry Christmas, little children!

My home so far away

Send I loving Christmas greetings

To you on your holiday.

4. Второй ведущий: - Do you know what happened to Santa one day? He got stuck up the chimney. (Ученики 4класса исполняют песню):

When Santa got stuck up the chimney, He began to shout:

«You ,boys and girls won’t get any toys, if you don’t pull me out.

My beard is black, there’s soot in my sack. My nose is tickly too».

5. Первый ведущий: - Let’s play! I’ve got some cards with letters. Make the words, please. ( Дети составляют слова: Santa Claus).

Ученики 5 класса читают рифмовки:

S stands for stockings we hang up so high.

A is for all we get if we don’t cry.

N is for nobody he will pass by.

T is for tomorrow, the day we eat pie.

A stands for at last old Santa is nigh.

C for the children who love him so well.

L for the little girl, his name she can spell.

A stands for apples so rosy and red.

U is for us, as we wait for his sled.

S stands for Santa who comes in the night.

6. Второй ведущий показывает картинку с изображением оленя, спрашивает:

-Who’s this? - A reindeer. What’s his name? – Rudolf. What colour’s his nose? – Red. Yes, he’s Santa’s favourite reindeer.

Ученики 6 класса исполняют песню «Rudolf,  the red-nosed reindeer».

Rudolph the red-nose reindeer Had a very shiny nose

And if you ever saw it  You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names

They never let poor Rudolf Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say

Rudolph with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then all the reindeer loved  him  And they shouted out with glee

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer  You'll go down in history

7. Первый ведущий спрашивает зал:

- Can you hear anything? I can hear some bells ringing. Let’s sing a song. ( Дети поют песню «Jingle Bells»).

Dashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh,

Over the fields we go, Laughing all the way;

Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright,

What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonight,

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh

8. Ведущие желают детям: Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!

 Все поют «We wish you a Merry Christmas/3/ and a Happy New Year!»
