The subject of the lesson – Magic Toy
The place in the cycle:
Class 2V, 17 students
Date 12.02.15 . Time 10.30 – 11.15
Aim: by the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:
- say what they can do with toys;
- learn the new words and word combinations
Skills: - listening for specific information
- reading for recognition of new language
- copying words
- completing sentences
- reading for details
New language: a hat, bounce a ball, ride a bike, fly a kite, catch
Revision: I’ve got a cat. Take, hug, presents, little, fly, climb, feed, draw, clap, swim.
Materials: Millie 2V by Azarova S.I. and others (PB, AB, CD MP3, word cards (WСs), picture cards (PCs).

(10 min) Listen, look and say Rhyme Magic presents | Asks pupils to listen to the rhyme and say who/what it is about. Tells pupils to mime the words and phrases from the rhyme a hat, bounce the ball, ride the bike, and catch the ball. Pronounce them at random. Class 2V, 8-9 year-old pupils. Leading learning style is the mixed style. Students felt confident in different activities. They showed great interest in learning the English language. At the lesson different materials were used: a tape recorder, PCs, WCs and a hat. We used the patterns “Have you got a …?” – Yes,.../No,… .
The aim of the lesson was to use the structures in pupils’ speech. For listening we used a rhyme. The aim of the task was to listen for specific information. The pupils succeeded in this task.
The pre-stage was organized effectively due to person-centered approach, communicative approach and game technology.
I think the lesson was successful. Students overcame all the tasks. The aims were achieved. The children could comment what they could do with toys, practiced listening for specific information, read for recognition of new language, spoke a short dialogue, copied words and read for details. The students were fond of the lesson so that they have a lot of toys at home and now they are able to name them.
