Данный урок представляет собой попытку реализации системного подхода при обучении английскому языку в 3 классе. Тема урока -"Праздники". На данном уроке происходит интеграция учебный знаний и умений по английскому языку и по математике.

PLAN OF THE LESSON:

I. Greeting:

T. Good morning! How are you?

P. Good morning! Fine, thanks, and how are you?

T. I’m fine, thank you. Sit down, please.

II. Warming-up:

T. – Children, look at the screen. What can you see there? (slide 1)

P. – I can see numbers.

T. – Right. So today we will have an interesting lesson. We will have Maths and English in one class! We will speak about numbers in English, we will count and do sums. Are you ready to start?

P. – Yes!

T.-  First of all, tell me please, what is the date today?

P. – It is the 26th of November.

T. – Good. And how many days are there in November?

P. – There are 30 days in November.

T. – OK. Let us remember all the months of the year. Look and repeat after me. (slide 2)

(Pupils look at the screen and pronounce the names of the months in chorus after the teacher.)

T. – Well done! Now look again at the screen and say what other months have got 30 days in them.

P1. – April has got 30 days.

P2. – June has got 30 days.

P3. – September has got 30 days

T. – Very good! Once again, how many months have got 30 days?

P1. – Three.

T. – Really?

P2. – Four!

T. – Right! What are they?

P2. – April, June, September, November.

T. – Good. And what is the shortest month of the year?

P3. – It is February.

T. – How many days has it got?

P. 4 – It has 28 days.

P.5 – No, it has 29 days.

T. – Has it got 29 days every year?

P5 – No, every four years.

T.  – Yes, right, and we call such year “a leap” year.  And how many days have other months got?

P2. – They have got 31 days.

T. – Good. Let’s name them.

(Pupils name the months which have 31 days in them)

T. – OK. And how many days are there in a year?

P6. – Twelve!

 T. – Right. Now, children who were born in January, stand up, please! (Pupils stand up.)

T. – How many children were born in January?

P1. – Two.

T. – Sit down, please. Children who were born in February, stand up! (Pupils/a pupil stand/s up.) How many children were born in February?

P3. – One.

T. - Now, children who were born in March. Stand up! (Pupils stand up.)

T. – How many children were born in March?

P5. – Two.

T. – Now, children. Make up dialogues and ask each other: “When were you born?” (slide 3)

(Pupils make dialogues in pairs, the teacher monitors their work.)

T. – I see that you are ready. Who would like to start?  You, please.

P. 1 – When were you born?

P. 2 – I was born on the 4th of October. When were you born?

P1. – I was born on the 17th of March.

(The teacher asks 2 more pairs to perform the dialogue.)

III. Подготовка к проекту:

T. – Do you like birthdays?

Pupils:- Yes!

T. – Why do you like them?

P8. – I often get presents on my birthday.

T. – I see. How many presents do you want to get on your birthday?

P1 – 50

P2 – 100

P3 – One million!

T. – Oh, don’t be so greedy! Remember! It is better to give presents than to get them. By the way, what holiday is coming?

Pupils: New Year! ( Slide 4)

T. – Right! Let’s stand up and sing the New Year song. (Pupils stand up and sing “Jingle bells!”)

T. – Right. And who usually gives you the presents on New Year’s Eve?

Pupils – Santa Claus!

T. – Children! Do you want to make Santa Claus happy?

Pupils – Yes!

T. – Then, let’s choose and buy presents for Santa Claus!

Pupils. – Let’s!

T. – I think you love Santa Claus very much and you want to buy a lot of presents for him, right? Look at the blackboard . There are different presents. (Pupils look at the pictures on the board.)

So, let’s divide into 4 groups. Group 1 will buy some warm clothes for Santa Claus. Group 2 will buy some tasty things. Group 3  will buy some vegetables and a new sleigh for the deer. Group 4 will buy a gadget for SC. I will give you the money. 1000 magic banknotes.

(The teacher gives out special paper money to pupils.)

Children! You must choose the presents you want to buy, so you must discuss them in groups. Then, you must calculate how much money you need. And, finally, you will tell your classmates:

1- what presents you bought

2- how much money you spent;

3- how much money is left.  

(Pupils work in groups. The teacher monitors their work.)

IV. Презентация групповых мини-проектов.

(Pupils present their shopping lists with calculations and show the presents they bought.)

T. : Children! Now we will listen to your mini-projects . You must listen to your classmates attentively and check them. Count the prices of their presents and add these figures in your exercise-books.

(While pupils of  group 1 say about their presents and the money they spent, other groups count their expenses, the teacher puts down the sum of each group on the blackboard in the following way: Group 1    Group 2     Group 3       Group 4)

T. – Now, children, let’s look at the money you spent on presents. Which group spent most money?

Pupils:  Group 3!

T. – Good.  Look! Children from the 4th group bought a mobile for Santa Clause!

Pupils. – Great!

T. – And what is his number?

(Pupils of the 4th group  read aloud the number: 8-929-318-46-57)

(Teacher puts down the number on the blackboard.)

T. – Now, let’s repeat the number in chorus! You will learn it quickly!

(Pupils repeat the number in chorus.)

T. – Now, you are happy! You may call Santa and tell him what presents you want. Now let’s put the presents for Santa Clause in this stocking! (Pupils put the pictures into it.)

V. Hometask

T. –Children! I think Santa Clause will like your presents very much. I’ve got a surprise for you, too. Your home task will be special. I want you to think what presents you want to buy for your Mum and Dad or your grandparents, and count how much money you will spend. You may draw your presents on a sheet of paper. (Pupils put down their home task.)

VI. Reflexion

T. – Children! Did you like our lesson today?

P. Yes!

T. – What was interesting for you at the lesson?

P1. – It was interesting to choose presents for Santa Clause.

T. – What did you learn to do?

P2. – We learnt to count the money for presents.

T. – Did you like to work in a group?

P3. – Yes, it was fun!

T. – I am glad to hear that. I liked your work very much today. Let me tell you the marks…

(The teacher assesses the pupils’ work in class.)

VII. Parting:

T. – Good-bye! Have a nice day!

Pupils: Good-bye! See you soon.
