Мероприятие по этнокультурному компоненту по теме «Праздник урожая в России  и День Благодарения в США»

Цели мероприятия: сформировать у детей интерес к культурам и традициям Англии и России посредством изучения особенностей празднования Дня Благодарения в США и Праздника урожая в России.

Задачи мероприятия: 

I. Образовательная:

-расширение лингвистического кругозора учащихся.          

II. Развивающие

- развитие творческих способностей учащихся;

- формирование готовности к коммуникации;

- мотивации к изучению английского языка.        

III. Воспитательные:

-развитие интереса к культуре и традициям других народов.

Оборудование: Короны с изображением фруктов и овощей, муляж репки, костюмы героев сказки «Репка», плакат с изображением корабля «Mayflower», костюмы индейцев,  овощи, фрукты, фонограмма песни: «The sun wakes up».

                                                  Ход мероприятия

Teacher: «Our motherland is very rich. Various crops are grown here: wheat, barley, buckwheat, rice and also fruits, vegetables. (The children appear with crowns.) »

-I am wheat. Bread, delicious cakes and biscuits are made from wheat.

-I am a tomato, I am red and tasty.

-I am a cucumber, I am green and juicy.

-I am a beetroot; I am healthy and full of vitamins.

-I am a carrot, I am orange and healthy.

-I am a potato, I am friable and crumbly.

Teacher: «We have a lot of other vegetables. But fruits and berries are tastier. »

-I am an apple, children’s delicacy.

-I am a watermelon, I am tasty and juicy.

-I am a raspberry, I am a treatment for cold.

-I am a strawberry, I am a sister of wild strawberry.

-I am a grape. I am tasty and juicy.

Teacher: The savior is celebrated in Russia (Someone is holding small barrel with honey, someone- a vase with apples.)

People go to the churches, hallow honey and apples and eat them with pleasure.

Teacher: «Summer’s passed. Autumn’s come. It’s time to collect harvest. Agricultural workers are celebrating the Harvest day. (The «Wheat »is taking out bread on the towel.) »

-Here is the cottage loaf made from our harvest. (The «fruits» and «Vegetables» are coming out singing the «Harvest» song.)

-The sun wakes up,

-Yes, the sun wakes up.

-The sun smiles,

-Yes, the sun smiles.

-the wind blows.

-Yes, the wind blows.

-The rain falls down.

-Yes, the rain falls down.

-The sun goes down,

-Yes, the sun goes down.

-The moon comes up.

-Yes, the moon comes up.

-The night lies still.

-Yes, the night lies still.

-Then the sun wakes up,

-Yes, the sun wakes up.

Teacher: «Everyone is glad at the rich harvest, because there will be a plenty of food in winter. »(Playing: fairy-tale «Turnip»)

Story-teller: Fairy-tale’s persons also collect the harvest. Grandpa planted a turnip. The turnip grew bigger and bigger. Grandpa came to pick the turnip, pulled and pulled but couldn’t pull it. Grandpa called Grandpa.

Grandpa: « Grandma, come to me, help me to pull the turnip up. »

Story-teller: Grandma came. Grandma pulled Grandpa. Grandpa pulled the turnip. They pulled and pulled but couldn’t pull it up. Grandma called Granddaughter.

Grandma: « Granddaughter, come to me, help me to pull the turnip up. »

Story-teller: Granddaughter came. Granddaughter pulled Grandma. Grandma pulled Grandpa. Grandpa pulled the turnip. They pulled and pulled but couldn’t pull it up. Granddaughter called Zhuchka.

 Granddaughter:  « Zhuchka, come to me, help me to pull the turnip up. »

Story-teller: Zhuchka came. Zhuchka pulled Granddaughter. Granddaughter pulled Grandma. Grandma pulled Grandpa. Grandpa pulled the turnip. They pulled and pulled but couldn’t pull it up.  Zhuchka called Murka.

Zhuchka: « Murka, come to me, help me to pull the turnip up. »

Story-teller: Murka came. Murka pulled Zhuchka. Zhuchka pulled Granddaughter. Granddaughter pulled Grandma. Grandma pulled Grandpa. Grandpa pulled the turnip. They pulled and pulled but couldn’t pull it up.  Murka called the Mouse « Norushka»

Murka: « Norushka, come to me, help me to pull the turnip up. »

Story-teller: Norushka came. Norushka pulled Murka .Murka pulled Zhuchka. Zhuchka pulled Granddaughter. Granddaughter pulled Grandma. Grandma pulled Grandpa. Grandpa pulled the turnip. They pulled and pulled and pulled the turnip.

Teacher: «The Harvest holiday is celebrated in the USA too. It is the Thanksgiving Day. This holiday appeared in the 17th century. It was in 1620, in the time of King James the First. English didn’t like their King and called him «The Foolish king of England. » Many of them even left England and went to live in other countries. In November, 1620, a small ship, the Mayflower, left England. There were about 100 people aboard the ship, but even for this 100 the ship was too small. For seven long weeks the «Mayflower» was in the waves and storms of the Atlantic Ocean, and at last the people saw land. It was America. It was already autumn. It was raining and a cold wind was blowing. »

(Playing: the «Mayflower» with men and women on it.)

They are crying:

-Many of us are ill!

-We are hungry!

-We want to drink!

-We will die!

(One man is coming and saying: «To the land! »)

Teacher: «They are settling their feet on the land and meeting to an Indian. »

The Indian: «We want to help you. Here are our vegetables: maize, pumpkins, beans. »

Someone: «It is tasty and edible. »

The Indian: «We will teach you how to hunt, fish, plant and survive in America. You will not be hungry any more. »

Teacher: «The Indians taught the pilgrims how to hunt, fish, plant,, and survive in America. In the fall of 1621 the pilgrims had a great harvest. They were thankful and decided to celebrate with a Thanksgiving Feast. They prepared a dinner of turkey, corn, beans, and pumpkins. They invited their Indian friends to share this feast. The Indians brought food to the feast, too (they even brought popcorn!).  Americans still celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the fall. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. »
