Цель: Формирование коммуникативных, исследовательских и информационных компетентностей учащихся,расширение кругозора обучающихся, мотивация учащихся к овладению английским языком.
Задачи:
- развивать и совершенствовать виды деятельности учащихся (аудирование, чтение с охватом содержания, поисковое чтение, выразительное чтение, говорение в монологической и диалогической речи, письмо), анализировать учебный материал по теме; обобщить грамматический материал; научить пользоваться ИТ (представление презентации) на уроке,
- расширить кругозор учащихся, привить интерес к чтению как источнику культуры; привить навыки пользования компьютером ресурсами Интернет
- воспитывать чувство толерантности учащихся к представителям других культур и народов через их книги

Good morning, children. Let's begin our lesson. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. We will use IT-technologies at our lesson & discuss a very interesting topic. The aim of our lesson is to get to know more about it using Internet and other resources. & our topic is “Books in our Life”

The topic we are going to discuss is rather difficult. To help you speak English fluently let’s practice it a bit & sing the rhyme - a tongue-twister:

1. Books Genres.
And now it’s time to start our topic.

_Leo_, can you answer the question?
- They can be traditional, i.e. made of paper. Such books you can lend in libraries, buy in shops, borrow from your friends etc. You see some in our exhibition.
- & nowadays there is one more type of books – electronic, or e-books. You can see & have them surfing the Internet. There are some sites where you can find them even free of charge. Here are some:

At school we deal with schoolbooks. & we are going to do it now. Open your textbooks at p.174, ex.62. Listen to the text “The Surgeon”

2) Now let’s answer the questions of ex.63, p.174.
6. Grammar Test. Expressions with do, make, have, get.

7*. We can’t but mention such a genre as Geography Books. Let’s listen to a story about Canada, one of the English-speaking countries, & join the author.

8. We should give our recommendations for children & teenagers abroad. I mean about our country – Russia. While watching the presentation do the tasks given.

Certainly not. We also can write books or stories. & surely they will be interesting, because they are ours.
2. Домашнее задание:
You should do your best to have excellent knowledge in English. So your hometask is to write your own story about any event at school or at home, or somewhere else. I want you to use Adverbs of Time & Frequency in your stories. Do the task for the next Friday.
And for the next lesson I want you to practice your imagination: speak about the events described in the story “The Surgeon” as a medical engineer (Ex.65, p.174).

The teenager’s glog answer the questions Good evening ladies and gentlemen, honored guests of the Dominion Wildlife Service. My name is Farley Mowat and I am here tonight to let you know that you have been terribly mistaken about the wolf population in the Keewatin area. These beautiful creatures are not vicious killers to be feared and destroyed. Do not fear the unknown! We have been ignorant about the wolves and their habitat for too long. I met some wonderful Eskimo friends, Mike and Ootek who helped me understand these things. Wolves actually eat a lot of mice, squirrels, and fish as their main food supply. If they do kill a caribou, it would be a sick or weak member of the herd. They are not savages, but peaceful family oriented animals who care for each other. I now have a slide show so that you can see for yourselves the natural beauty of these amazing animals.
