Конспект урока. Тема: «Австралия» (6класс)

Цели:

Образовательные:

- закрепление лексических единиц и речевых образцов по теме;

-отработка навыка аудирования;

-закрепление знаний об Австралии, ее традициях и обычаях.

Развивающие:

-развитие навыка монологической и диалогической речи;

-развитие умения воспринимать устную английскую речь;

-развитие познавательных интересов и творческих способностей.

Воспитательные:

-воспитание интереса к англоговорящим странам;

-воспитание культуры общения.

Задачи:

-закрепление лексических единиц и речевых образцов по теме;

-развитие коммуникативных навыков.

Оборудование и наглядные пособия:

CD диск, раздаточный материал, демонстрационный материал.

Тип урока:

Комбинированный речевой урок (урок – закрепление в серии уроков на тему: «Австралия»).

Ход урока:

I.Организационный момент

-Good morning

-Sit down, please and let us start our lesson

II.Актуализация знаний

-We spoke about the verb to make. Now listen to me and give it a name.

-to leave quickly, especially in order to escape (make off)

-to be able to hear or understand something (make out)

-to invent the words or music for a new story, song or poem (make up)

-to put special paint or colour on someone’s face in order to change the way they look (make up)

-to become friendly with someone again after you have had an argument (make up with)

And answer my questions, please.

-Which of you can make up stories (songs, poems)?

-Does your mother make up her face?

-Do you help your friends to make out smth. in classes?

-Have you ever made off from classes?

III Отработка новых лексических единиц по теме.

-Open p.69 ex.32 and repeat these words

-Answer my questions.

-What extraordinary things do you know?

-Where can people surf?

-Who lays the table in your family?

-Which of your relatives do you resemble?

-What animals have bushy tails?

-What people are called curious?

-What animals can be called graceful?

-Where can people escape from?

IV. Активизация новых лексических единиц.

-Complete the sentences.

-I’m extremely sorry to have troubled you.

-What animals lay eggs?

-What do you want to be when you grow up?

-Mike closely resembles his father.

-She was a woman of extraordinary beauty.

-I’m curious about this book.

-Poor Sam! He is in constant pain.

Did you notice him leaving the party?

-When we were in Hawaii we went surfing every day.

Last lesson we spoke about what country (Australia)

-What are the 3 deserts?

-In what way is Australia divided?

-What animal is the symbol of Australia?

We read the text about Australia. Let’s remember it.

“Australia is the land where birds run instead of flying and animals hop instead of running.”

One of the most beautiful things you can see in Australia is Uluru. This huge rock is 383 meters high and 348 kilometers long, but what you see of Uluru is the tip of the iceberg. There are another 2,100 meters under the ground. Uluru is 600 million years old. The best time to see it is at the end of the day, when its colour changes from yellow to gold, red and then purple. Uluru is a sacred place for Australia’s native people, the Aborigines. They believe that it’s full of spirits that created the world.

Lakes are usually cool and wet – but not in Australia. The big lakes in the desert are dry most of the time. Lake Eyre, which is 70 kilometers wide and 130 kilometers long, has been filled with water only four times over the last hundred years! Rivers, too, are often dry. The River Todd, which runs through Alice Springs, is nearly always dry, but it doesn’t discourage Australian people. Every September, there is a boat race in  Alice Springs. The boats, however, are special. They have sides but no bottoms and are powered by feet! Hundreds of people come to Alice Springs to see this crazy race.

Do you speak Strine?

Australian people speak English but their English is a bit different from British or American English. They have their own special words and phrases called “Strine”.

Here are some examples:

Arvo: afternoon

Barbie: a barbecue

Chook: a chicken

Chrissie: Christmas

Crook: not well, ill

Cow: anything that is difficult

Cozzie: swimming suit

Dead horse: tomato sauce

Drongo: a foolish person

Fair dinkum: really, honesty

Grizzle: to complain

Hooly-Dooly: an expression of surprise

Lollies: sweets

Lolly: money

Mate: a best friend

Mozzie: a mosquito

She’ll be apples: It will be all right

Snags: sausages

Can you work out what these sentences mean?

Hey, mate! Come along to our Barbie this arvo.

We’re going to cook the snags.

I don’t mean to grizzle, but I was feeling pretty crook during Chrissie.
