Краткая аннотация.

    Данный дидактический материал имеет краеведческую направленность и рекомендован для учащихся 7 классов в рамках изучения тем “Природа: дикие и домашние животные. Климат, погода”. В процессе работы над текстом учащиеся расширяют свой кругозор, знакомятся с наследием своего родного края.

    Актуальность данной разработки заключается в реализации главных задач образования и воспитания подрастающего поколения на уроках и факультативах иностранного языка: формирования гражданской позиции, чувства патриотизма и решения коммуникативной задачи в рамках заявленной темы.

     Содержание текста призвано стимулировать познавательный интерес школьников к изучению направлений развития родного края.

      Цели и задачи работы:

• развитие умения чтения с целью понимания основного содержания;
• совершенствование навыков поискового чтения, чтения с детальным пониманием прочитанного;
• развитие навыков анализа и синтеза полученной информации;
• развитие навыков монологической и диалогической речи;
• в рамках краеведческой тематики освоение новых лексических единиц, обогащение словарного запаса;
• высказывание своего мнения по обсуждаемой теме и создание собственного письменного монологического высказывания.

   Таким образом, данный дидактический материал, включающий систему заданий, состоящих из трех этапов (предтекстовый, текстовый и послетекстовый), способствует формированию основных компетенций, которыми учащиеся должны овладеть по предмету английский язык в средней школе.

Vladimir Region has a lot of places of great beauty. One of the wonderful natural treasure is situated in the south - western part of it. This area is known as Meshchyora.

     Meshchyora is a national park, which means that it should be left open and free from industrial and urban development. It appeared to protect nature, animals and plants in Meshchyora Lowlands in 1992. The park is covered with wild, beautiful wild forests. They occupy 70 per cent of its territory. Here you will find such common trees as pines, birches and oaks. This place is also rich in fine lakes, swamps and rivers. The rivers Oka, Tasa, Buzha, Karaslitsa, Shurovka, Pra, Goose flow through the territory of it. Lakes Glukhoe, Spudninskoe, Svyatoe, Klepikov amaze with their beauty.

    Meshchyora is a living museum of plants and animals. There are about 50 species of animals in its forests. A visitor can see bisons, elks, foxes, wild boars, wolves, squirrels and hares. The small fur muskrat is endemic. This area is also full of different kinds of fish, frogs, beetles, reptiles and more than seven hundred species of butterflies. The territory of the national park is inhabited by many varieties of  birds: grey cranes, capercaillies, grouses, woodpeckers  and owls, white storks, golden eagles.

    As for the plants, 60 kinds of them are included in the Red Book. Some rare flowers are endangered species such as the thinnest kaulinia, Baltic finger-root orchids. It is necessary to protect wildlife in Meshchyora because it is the home of many living beings. Our government attaches great importance to their protection.

     Meshchyora is a famous tourism and leisure area in Central Russia. It attracts many writers, poets, artists and musicians. Thousands of tourists, fishermen, hunters come to this park every year.  Some ecological pathways have been created on its territory. They are "Window into Nature", "Paustovsky pathway", "The road to the Temple" which pass through the most picturesque places. The nature museum "World of birds in Meshchera" and the museum complex "Ancient Russian city" wait for their guests. Here you will find a lot of entertainment ranging from ski hikes to cycling and kayaking
