Тема: Досуг и увлечения современного подростка

Цели урока:

Образовательные: познакомить с  лексикой по теме «Досуг и увлечения;  формировать умение употреблять изученную лексику  в устной речи и письме;

Развивающие: развивать навыки чтения, аудирования, письменной и устной речи;

Воспитательные:  формировать устойчивый  интерес к изучению английского языка.

Оборудование:

Интерактивная доска, компьютер, проектор, видеослайд с изображением видов проведения досуга британских подростков

Ход урока

1. Organization moment. Greetings

T: Good morning guys. I am very glad to see  you. Take your seats, please. Who is absent today?

2. Warm-up

T: Ok! Thank you. Let’s smile to each other and start our lesson. I want you to look at the screen! In order to know the topic of our lesson you should do this rebus.

(Hobby)

T: Yes! You are right. We are going to talk about hobbies.

3. Presenting new material

T: What is hobby? Can you give me the defenition to this term?

Hobby is an activity you do in your free time. That is what you like. Also we can say free-time activities or leisure activities. 

Now you are going to see the pictures depicting some hobbies. Let’s name them. (reading, collecting stams, playing tennis, knitting, listening to music, playing computer games, riding a bike, fishing, travelling)

4. Speaking

Good job! And now I want to know about your hobbies. What do you like doing in your free time. As for me, I like reading detective stories, but I don’t have enough time for it.

5. Reading practice

OK, very good. The next task for you. You are to read short texts  and  guess what hobby is it? Is it clear?

Such people like to visit different cities, towns and historical places. Some people even visit other countries. They can travel by car, by plane, by train, by bus or on foot. This hobby helps them to learn history, geography and traditions of different people and countries.- Travelling

People like to spend their free time near the rivers or lakes . They often go there with their friends or relatives . They can have a picnic there. They go usually there in summer but some people like to go there in winter too . Also they can boil fish broth ( soup ) after going there. Fishing

This hobby is interesting and useful. People try to find or buy different things such as stamps, badges, coins, pictures and dolls. Their collection can be thematic. This hobby helps people to make new friends and to learn some new things about countries and lands, animals and birds, famous people and historical events.  Collecting

This hobby is popular with the people of all ages. People like to go to the stadium or to the sports ground. They are strong and healthy. Their hobby helps to develop their mind and body and teaches them to plan their time. Doing Sports

People like to go to the library. Some of them have a good collection of books at home. And they are really proud of it. They can have different books: fiction, historical novels, books about animals and birds, books about different countries. Their hobby helps them to relax, to learn the world and understand people better.  Reading

6. Listening

T: You are going to listen to the text about leisure activities in Britain. You task is to listen attentively and define the statements  as true or false. You will hear the text twice. But firstly lets read the statements:

- One of the most popular activities for teenagers in the UK is travelling.

- Teenagers in the UK like doing sports.

- Music is one of  the main interests.

- Camping is not popular.

- They often go to the cinema with their friends and family.

-Teenagers’ leisure time in the UK is  different from teenagers’ leisure time in Russia. 

Text for listening:

The leisure activities of teenagers in the UK are very diverse. There are plenty of opportunities for fun and exciting activities.One of the most popular activities for teenagers in the UK is sport. There is a huge variety of sports clubs where teenagers can play football, basketball, tennis and other sports.Many teenagers in the UK are also interested in music. They can go to concerts of their favourite singers or learn musical instruments on their own. There are also many music schools and clubs where teenagers can develop their musical talents.Another popular leisure activity among teenagers in the UK is camping in the countryside. There are many beautiful national parks and walking trails where they can enjoy fresh air, beautiful scenery and spend time with friends or family.Of course, teenagers also love to spend time on the internet. They can chat with their friends through social media, watch YouTube videos or play computer games.In general, teenagers’ leisure time in the UK is not much different from teenagers’ leisure time in Russia or in another developed country.
