Цели:

Совершенствование навыков устной речи. Монологическая и диалогическая речь.

Обсуждение актуальной проблемы "Преимущества и недостатки компьютера в жизни человека".

Воспитание толерантного отношения к мнениям других людей и умения высказывать свою точку зрения.

Задачи:

  1. Совершенствование лексических и грамматических навыков в устной речи.
  2. Развитие навыков аудирования с полным пониманием основного содержания.
  3. Развитие навыков чтения с полным пониманием основного содержания.
  4. Совершенствование навыков монологической и диалогической речи.
  5. Воспитание у учащихся гражданской ответственности за свои поступки. 

Ход урока

  1. Организационный этап

Good morning dear friends. I’m very glad to see you here again.

Today we have an unusual lesson - a round table discussion: Computers in our life: advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, let’s revise the rules of the discussion. Let’s read them:

1) Every participant has the right to speak only with the permission of the leader. Conflicts inside the group are impossible.

2) Every report must be illustrated by the facts or examples from life.

3) You have no right to interrupt each other.

4) You should keep to the topic of discussion.

5) You should respect each other and try not to offend the opponent.

T. While discussing your arguments with other group mates let them agree and disagree with you.

Учитель задает вопросы общего характера.

What did you do last weekend? Did you work or play on the computer? When did you first start using a computer? How often do you use it? What do you       usually use it for? Do you use your computer when you do homework? Have you ever studied English using your computer? 

Now you are going to make a group survey: you’ll do a test in groups of four and find out how much you depend on a computer, report back to the class and compare your results with other groups.

How much do you depend on a computer? Answer the questions of the text and tell about the results.

________ I use all the keys on the keyboard.

________ I use different types of software.

________ I watch movies and videos.

________ I write my own programs.

Count the number of:

A’s______________

O’s______________

S’s______________

R’s______________

N’s______________

If you have more R’s and N’s than A’s and O’s, it means you are OK.

If you have more A’s and O’s than R’s and N’s, it means you suffer from computer addiction.

Учащиеся делятся на две группы:

1) не могут представить свою жизнь без компьютера,

2) считают, что компьютеры следует использовать как можно реже, только для работы.

Учитель знакомит учащихся с речевыми клише, необходимыми для дискуссии.

В конце дискуссии выносится общее решение. Ориентирование учеников на компромиссное решение вопроса.

Conclusion.

Lately computers have filled our life. Now they are almost in each family. We have got used to them and we do not imagine our leisure without this miracle-machine.

Recently many people ask a question: “ Is the Internet harmful or useful?”

 I think, that there is no certain answer. In fact on the one hand the Internet is a very good and useful thing. And on the other hand it has many negative functions: dependence, the waste of time, money, health.

Certainly, it is necessary to understand, what is really important in the Internet and what is not. And then the Internet will be not the terrible enemy, but the indispensable assistant.

The Internet, made accessible through computers, has transformed the world into a global village, enabling people from different corners of the globe to connect and interact instantaneously. Social media platforms and communication applications have made it effortless to stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues, irrespective of geographical barriers. Furthermore, computers have revolutionized long-distance communication, making video conferencing and online collaboration seamless. The ability to bridge distances and foster connections has not only enriched personal relationships but has also had a profound impact on business and education.
