What are some of your favorite memories from your time in school so far? Have you thought about what career or field you might want to pursue after finishing school? Grammar - Modal Verbs

Choose the right answer and compare school rules that you have in your school and the rules presented in the text. Find some common issues and something that makes your school different.

School rules are important for students. They have to/ should/ could wear a uniform and attend classes on time. Students 1 may not/ needn’t/ can't bring electronic devices or eat in classrooms, but they're allowed to bring food and drink for lunch.

Students also have to attend classes. They 2 needn’t/ shouldn’t / mustn’t skip class without a good reason. If they do not have a valid excuse, they will be punished. They 3 may/ have to/ should  stay after school or do extra homework.

Students 4 can/ must/ might participate in extracurricular activities and use the library during break times. In some schools, they can leave the premises during lunchtime.

Students 5 should/ have to/ can respect teachers and classmates and study hard for good grades. No doubt, cheating either at the lessons or at exams 6 is   prohibited/ is allowed/is permitted .

However, they 7 didn’t have to/ don't have to/ are not allowed take part in extracurricular activities outside of class or wear uniforms after school hours.

John: "I hate school, I find it unbearably dull.  I am sure, school   has nothing to do with real life. I'd rather spend my time playing video games."

Emily: "School is fantastic! It's where we learn about the world and ourselves, make friends and grow intellectually. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. My passion is Literature as it opens the world of  different cultures for me and  develops my critical  thinking skills.

John: "I loved my high school days, it was the best time of my life! I got to hang out with my friends all day, go to football games, and even skip class sometimes. I miss those days!"

Mike: "I don't know what to think, really. Sometimes I love school, other times I can't stand it because of the constant pressure to fit in. Still I loved participating in school clubs and activities.  So, it's a mixed bag for me. “

School life is an experience that shapes our future. It teaches us fundamental skills for life and socializing with others. Teachers play a vital role in helping us grow both 1 ACADEMIC and personally. They provide guidance, support, and 2 ENCOURAGE when we need it the most. Friends are also essential in providing 3 EMOTION support during difficult times and make school more 4 ENJOY.

School life teaches 5 VALUE life skills such as time management , prioritization, and effective communication. These skills help us become well-rounded individuals. Challenges help us grow and develop, teaching us resilience and 6 PERSEVERE. When faced with challenges, it is important to stay focused, work hard, and seek help when needed.

In conclusion, school life provides academic 7 KNOW, social skills, and life skills essential for success. It prepares us for the challenges ahead.
