Тема урока:  Oдежда. Национальные костюмы. Чтение.

 Класс: 8 (Учебник Spotlight 8)

Тип урока: комбинированный урок

Обучающая цель: Языковые средства и навыки оперирования ими (лексическая сторона речи): научиться оперировать активной лексикой в соответствии с коммуникативной задачей.

Коммуниккативные УУД: научиться  вести беседу на основе прочитанного, употреблять в речи изученные и новые ЛЕ по теме, читать и полностью понимать аутентичный текст, совершенствовать навык восприятия речи собеседника на слух; совершенствовать навык правильного использования фразовых глаголов в устной и письменной речи.

Развивающие цели: (ориентированные на достижение метапредметных результатов обучения): развивать умения во всех видах речевой деятельности при планировании вербального и невербального поведения; развивать умения смыслового чтения: умения прогнозировать содержание текста по ключевым словам, по картинкам, устанавливать смысловые соответствия при восприятии речи на слух; выделять основную мысль, главные факты.

Воспитательные цели: (ориентированные на достижение личностных результатов обучения): воспитывать патриотизм,  формировать уважение к традициям своего народа, его культурному наследию.

Оснащение: раздаточный материал, таблица, компьютер, мультимедийный

проектор, презентация, аудиозапись, картинки с изображением одежды, картинки с изображением людей, одетых в разные стили одежды, видеоролик.

1  Организационный момент.

T: Good morning, I’m glad to see you. Is anybody absent today? How are you today?

2 этап – мотивационный. Постановка целей и задач урока.

Цель – включение в учебную деятельность на личностно-значимом уровне.

T:Now look at the blackboard try to guess  the theme of our lesson. What can you see?

P: We can see people in different kinds of clothes.

T: What’s special about the clothes?

P: I think we will discuss modern clothes and national Russian costume.

T: Right , we will talk about clothes and read the text about national Russian costume.

2) Повторение лексики. As we are going to talk about clothes let’s revise their names. Say one word to describe the clothes. Name the pattern, the material or the style of the clothes.

Example: a blouse- a silk blouse

a shirt-a striped shirt

a … coat, a … dress, a … hat, a … vest, a … jumper, a …suit, a jacket, a …coat, a… skirt, a … hat, … trousers, …. jeans, …high-heel shoes, … boots, etc.

3) Fill in the table with the words from the list.

Text

Historians suppose that a traditional Russian costume started taking its shape in the 12th-13th centuries. Up to the 18th century it was worn by tsars, boyars, merchants, craftsmen and peasants.

A traditional Russian costume for women consists of two dress types: a sarafan based and a poneva based costume. People hand painted them and decorated with the embroidery and beads. Red, white and blue fabrics were the most popular.

A sarafan was worn by girls and young women. It is a long, loose-fitting sleeveless dress with straps buttoning in front. It was worn with a long shirt called a rubaha.

A rubaha was worn by men, women and children from birth to death. It is a type of a shirt with long sleeves. Men’s length of the shirt was to their knees and women’s one was to their ankles. The shirt was made of a white, blue or red cloth and decorated with a red tape or embroidery.

In the southern part of Russia girls wore  long linen shirts with a woolen belt. When the girl was old enough  to get married she started to wear a poneva upon the shirt.A poneva is a woolen skirt, made of a home-made cloth, usually checked or striped. It was ornamented with embroidery and beads.

A kokoshnik is the most common type of a festive headdress. It was worn in 14th - 19th centuries. The kokoshnik could be pointed or round. Usually it was decorated with gold, silver, pearls and decorative stones. That’s why it was very expensive and was handed down from grandmother to granddaughter.

A perednik (apron) served to keep the clothes clean and protect them from dirt. It was worn by peasants. Women used it in the kitchen or in the garden. On holidays it was a decoration with patterns typical for the region.

A navershnik was worn by women and girls   in cool weather over a sarafan or a rubaha.

Lapti are bast shoes which were worn over onuchi (narrow strips of cotton) by peasants.  Lapti were used in the countryside up to 1930s.

A typical costume of a peasant consisted of a long shirt with a high collar called a rubaha and   straight trousers called porty .

A rubaha and porty were made of a home-made linen. Porty were not loose and were tightened to the ankles. The shirt was tied with a belt called kushak.  Onuchi and lapti were worn on the feet.

Wool, cotton and silk were used to make clothes  but flax was the most common fabric among peasants. Nowadays national costumes are still popular. They are used for concerts, dance performances, as well as on weddings and folk holidays.

11) Now work in pairs, read the text and choose the correct variant.

4) Women wore the kokoshnik  every day/ for special occasions.

14) Now let’s work in 4 groups. Tell about national and modern clothes .(Pupils do the task in four groups: the first one will describe Russian national costume for men, the second group will tell about the clothes men wear nowadays, the third group will describe Russian national costume for girls and women, the fourth group will tell about popular clothes of girls and woman nowadays).

15) Развитие навыка построения микро-монолога. Now we’ll play a guessing game. Look at the pictures 1-7 and try to guess what person is being described.

Example: The person is wearing a plain tight-fitting top, a floral cotton skirt and comfortable sporty moccasins. This person looks smart and trendy.

Answer: This is the picture № 4.
