Read the text about one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Transform the text into the dialogue and perform it. The Taj Mahal The Taj Mahal is India’s most famous architectural work of art that was inspired by love. It was built in honour of Shah Jahan’s second wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal was devoted to her husband. She was his constant companion and confident. She even used to accompany her husband on his military campaigns. Mumtaz died while giving birth to her fourteenth child. Shah Jahan’s love was so great and his sorrow was so deep that he ordered the most magnificent mausoleum on the earth to be built for her: the Taj Mahal. Masons, sculptors and artists were summoned from all over the world to work on the Taj Mahal. It took twenty-two years to complete the building designed by Iranian architect Ustad Isa. The Taj Mahal is made of white marble and contains detailed carvings decorated with floral patterns and precious stones. Four tall minarets at the corners of the structure surround the majestic dome in the centre. Shah Jahan’s reign was cut when his son, Aurangzeb, seized the throne and imprisoned his father in a tower facing the Taj Mahal. The view of this man-made wonder was Shah Jahan’s only comfort until his death.
