• why lots of people learn foreign languages nowadays
• why you have chosen to do the English exam this year
• what you did to prepare for your English exam

I’m going to give a talk about foreign languages.

Learning a foreign language is not easy, it  takes much time and effort. People learn foreign languages for different reasons. Nowadays more and more people travel around the world. So, it’s necessary to learn foreign languages to communicate with other people, to understand them and to be understood.

Besides, knowledge of foreign languages can help to find a well-paid job and gives an opportunity to study abroad. Some people learn foreign languages just for a hobby because it improves memory and broadens their minds. Knowledge of  at least one foreign language is a must for everybody who wants to make a good career and gain success because technological advances such as the Internet, cell phones, computers improved the way different countries cooperate and conduct business.

        As far as I know, English is the most popular language in the world. As for me, I have been learning English for 8 years. And this year I have chosen to do the English exam. I am interested in English and I realize that it will help me in the future.

Of course, I prepared for my English exam. I learned a lot of new words and revised grammar rules, read English books to enrich my vocabulary, listened to different English texts to improve my listening skills, talked to my English teacher to improve my pronunciation and speaking skills. And of course , I did a lot of exercises.

        To sum up, I would say that learning foreign languages is very important. Not only it is  a great way to spend time and relax, but it also can easily help become successful and make a good career.

There are some useful tips on how  to master a foreign language:

• Listen to foreign songs;
• Watch foreign movies;
• Take up a language course;
• Try to find foreign friends to practice the language with native speakers;
• Travel to the foreign country and spend some time it the language surrounding there.

If you follow all these tips  or at least some  you will master a foreign language very quickly!
