It is situated between two towns: Biysk and Gorno-Altaysk on the Chuisky Highway, connecting Russia and Mongolia. Beryozovka is a village in Krasnogorsky district, Altay region.

Our village is neither large nor small. It is situated on the Katun river in a very picturesque place

Our village was founded in 1804

At first it was very small, but later, when the building of the Chuisky Highway started, the population of the village grew and grew.

Now more than 1,300 people live here Among them there are the representatives of many nationalities: the Russians, the Germans, the Ukranians and many others.

The area of the village is 171,3 sq.km

Some years ago the majority of them worked in the collective-farm. They grew cows for milk and meat and also wheat, rye, buckwheat, oats, hop, maize and potatoes.

Nowadays the village inhabitants prefer to do their own business.

Some people are occupied in the social sphere: at school: Our village school is a two-storied building. It is not modern, because it was built in 1957, but it is very cosy and comfortable.

The most of the village houses are one-storied , detached or semi-detached, with some modern conveniences and large kitchen-gardens and nice gardens.

Many fruit-trees are grown there: apple-trees, plums, cherries and pear-trees and also raspberry, strawberry, grapes.

The streets of the village are well-planned, there are many trees and flowers in front of the houses. They make our village green and very, very nice.
