Тема урока: The Victory Day

Тип занятия: Урок систематизации и обобщения знаний и умений.

Цель урока:

активизация изученного лексического и грамматического материала, практическое применение полученных знаний в различных видах деятельности (речевой, проектной, творческой).

Планируемые результаты:

Личностные:

развитие мотивов учебной деятельности и формирование личностного смысла учения;

развитие самостоятельности и личной ответственности за свои поступки, доброжелательности;

развитие мотивации к творческой деятельности. 

Предметные результаты:

совершенствование иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции в единстве её составляющих: языковой, речевой, социокультурной, учебно-познавательной, компенсаторной;

 систематизация знаний.

Речевая компетенция:

говорение:

умение начинать, вести, поддерживать и заканчивать диалог в стандартных

ситуациях общения, соблюдая нормы речевого этикета, при необходимости переспрашивая, уточняя;

умение расспрашивать собеседника и отвечать на его вопросы

аудирование:

воспринимать на слух  речь учителя, одноклассников

чтение:

читать текст с выборочным пониманием нужной информации;

адекватное произношение и различение на слух всех звуков изучаемого иностранного языка;

Оборудование:

1) аудиозапись  « Young Soldier - Poem by Only Yours»

 2) интерактивная доска, проектор, презентация;

3) раздаточный материал;

4) заготовки для изготовления открыток: картон,карандаши, клей, ножницы.

Ход занятия

I.Организационный этап.

Teacher: Good day, boys and girls! Glad to see you! I hope you are well. It s warm and beautiful day today,isn’t it? So, lets start.

Pupils: Good morning, teacher!

 II.Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности.

Teacher: First of all lets listen to a very famous Russian poem «Young Soldier-

 Poem by Only Yours». (Приложение 1). 

Please, look at the blackboard.  You can see the letters. Turn the letters into the words and  it’ll be the topic of our lesson.

(Учащиеся составляют слово из представленных букв и определяют название урока).

The Victory Day. 

Teacher: Yes, you are right! The theme of our lesson is Victory Day.

III. Речевая разминка.

Teacher: Let’s remember some facts about it:

1. When did the Great Patriotic War begin?
2. What heroes of the Great Patriotic War do you know?

3.What Hero Cities do you know?

     4.When did the Great Patriotic War end?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя)

III. Обобщение и систематизация знаний

Грамматический материал.

1.Teacher: Please, put the verbs in the right forms. (Обучающиеся ставят глаголы в скобках в нужное время). (Приложение 2)

2. Teacher: Arrange the parts of a personal letter in order.

Teacher: Please, read the text, write and translate the words on the topic  «Victory day». (Приложение 4) (Обучающиеся работают в группах)

VI.Мини – проект.  Работа в группе. Работа над учебным проектом: создание открытки.

Учитель знакомит учащихся с правилами оформления открытки.

Предлагает учащимся в творческих группах создать свои проекты из приготовленных материалов.

Ученики работают в группах по 4 человека, используя приготовленный к уроку материал в виде картинок, фото своих предков – участников войны, георгиевских ленточек, цветов.

Презентация работ. 

Teacher: Let's see your works.

Учащиеся выходят по группам к доске, показывают свои мини-проекты)

VII.Home task

Teacher: Now, write down your home task: write a letter to your friend, how you and your family celebrate Victory Day.

VIII. Рефлексия.

 Well done, my dear friends! It’s high time for me to know what we have done today? What have you known today? Do you like our lesson? (Учащиеся высказывают мнение об уроке,что они узнали нового,что было интересным,достигнуты ли цели на уроке)

Приложение 2.

In Russia and other countries Victory Day or 9th May 1)____(be) one of the greatest holidays of the year. On Victory Day morning there 2)___(be) meetings and demonstrations of the veterans who 3)____(fight) in the Great Patriotic War. Flowers and souvenirs 4)____(give) to those who 5)____(take) part in the Great Patriotic War. On that day there 6)___(be) military parade in all big cities of Russia. In the evening there 7)____(be) a holiday salute and a minute of silence to remember all those who 8)____(not come) back from the war. Еvery year on the 9th of May Russian people 9)____(honor) war veterans and those who 10)____(kill) during the war.

“Stalingrad”.

Soviet troops were defending Stalingrad, repulsing the attacks of the nazis.

The army defending the central and factory sections of the town was commanded by Lieutenant –General Vassily Ivanovich Chuikov. Chuikov was a courageous, decisive general.

Nazi forces were moving into the factory region in the direction of army headquarters command point. They were only three hundred metres away and coming closer.

Staff officers and adjutants were worried.

“ Comrade Commandar”,his adjutant reported, “the enemy is at our doorstep!”

“Fine”, said Chuikov.” That’s just where we need him”.

A fierce battle began right near Chuikov”s headquarters. It was so near , in fact, that when food was carried over to the headquarters fragments of mines and shells often turned up in the pots and dishes.

Glinka, the headquarters cook, ran up to Chuikov:

“ Comrade General, have you ever seen such a thing! Fragments in the plates, mines in the kasha, shells in the soup!”

The commander grinned:

“Splendid, Glinka. That’s battle-field spice and front-line vitamins to build up the anger inside us!”

“ Some vitamins!” grumbled Glinka. He liked the answer, however , and passed it along.

The soldiers were pleased. He was a brave man, their general!

Chuikov was charged with the defence of the city on the Volga, but he considered , however, that the best kind of defence is to attack. So he attacked the enemy day and night and never gave him a moment’s peace.

A fresh Soviet division arrived, and was placed under the disposition of Chuikov. The division commander appeared before the Commander-in-Chief for instructions.

Chuikov leaned over his maps. He looked carefully , repeating over and over: “ Let’s see now , where would it be best for you to take up the defence? Here they need men. And here –they’d be grateful ”.He finally took a pencil, drew a circle and from the circle made an arrow:

“Here now,” he said. “Together with the men on your right flank you’ll begin the attack. Your objective – to wipe out this concentration of the enemy and to end up here, at this point”.

The division commander looked up at the general:

“ To me that’s like a full-scale offensive, Comrade Commander, not a defence”.

“No, it’s a defence,” said Chuikov, a Stalingrad defence”.

Chuikov was an aggressive general, always on the offensive. He participated in many of the battles during the Great Patriotic War. In 1945 troops under his command were among the first to enter Berlin.

Read these statements and decide if they are true or false :

1.The army defending the central and factory sections of the town was commanded by Lieutenant-General V.Chuikov.

2.Nazi forces were only five hundred metres away coming closer.

3. The Defence of Stalingrad lasted several months.

4.Chuikov considered that the best kind of defence is a defence.

Victory Day

 In Russia and other countries Victory Day, or 9th May, is one of the great holidays of the year. It is a holiday of all people. In all towns there are decorations, flags and placards in the streets, in the shop windows and on the front of large buildings.    On Victory Day morning there are meetings and demonstrations of the veterans who fought in the Great Patriotic War. On that day there is military parade in all big cities of our country. Flowers and souvenirs are given to those who took part in the  Great Patriotic War. There are a lot of people in the streets and squares, at theatres, cinemas and concert halls. They are all celebrating their holiday. Many people go to see their friends or go for walks in the parks.
