«A Halloween Talk».  (Вечеринка для подростков.)

Задачи:Активизация изученной лексики в устной монологической и диалогической речи,развитие социокультурной компетенции,воспитание толерантности и уважения к чужой культуре, стимулирование познавательного интереса к изучению английского языка, страноведения , культуры, традиций, обычаев и праздников англоязычных стран.

Оформление: Задняя стенка сцены:в середине-огромная тыква с прорезями для глаз,носа и рта с надписью“Halloween”,слева,справа и сверху –постеры с изображением ведьм,летучих мышей,черных кошек,паутин с пауками,привидений,скелетов,черепов,черных рук из-за занавесей и т.д.

Передний план:панно с изображением обычной дворовой площадки,полумрак,сверху на веревке висит желтая луна, яркие звезды, а между ними –ведьма на метле.

Оснащение:рисунки к инсценированной песне,изображающие сыр,яйца,хлеб и мясо, табличка Friday,число 13 на черном фоне,, иллюстрации к приметам-паук,черная кошка,белая лошадь,булавка, зеркало,лестница.

Участники постановки: учащиеся 7-8 классов,2 младших школьника, ведущие.Все одеты в повседневную одежду.

                                                              Сценарий мероприятия:

Сумерки.Подростки собираются во дворе на инсценированной детской площадке, обмениваются       приветствиями ,проигрывают популярные мелодии на своих сотовых телефонах. Постепенно включается уличное освещение .На сцену выходят два ведущих.

1ведущий:It’s O and C and T and O and B and E and R

                  Come, daddy,it’s time to go,the kids are in the car

                  The Jack-o-lantern twinkles and the cats are out of  tune

                  We’ll watch the witches streaming past the sickle of the moon.

1 ведущий: Кто на лавочке сидел, кто на улицу глядел

                    Джимми Смит в игру играл, Боб считалкой нас считал

                   Фонарь из тыквы вырезал, Алуэтта нас стращала

                   Сьюзи ведьмами пугала,Квентин нам стихи читал,

                   Про приметы рассказал.

                   Дело было вечером, делать было нечего.

                   Мы расселись отдыхать , про приметы поболтать.

1 ученик:Hi, people! Haven’t seen you for ages! How’s life going on?

2 ученик: Cool, nothing to complain of. Aren’t you sick? You seem to have put all the clothing of your    

 family on!

1 ученик: Unfortunately I have caught a cold! Don’t like the autumn. The most unpleasant season of the year. The sky is often grey and cloudy. It’s raining steadily. The days are usually gloomy. There is either mist or frost in the air and it’s very muddy in the streets. And besides it’s very cold. To cut a long story short I am not an autumn lover. By the way, what date it is today?

3 ученик:It seems to be the 31 st of October. Oh, guys. It’s Halloween today, isn’t it?

4 ученик :Wow! Do you happen to know the story of this festival?Well, listen to me!

Long ago many people thought that on a certain autumn night dead spirits came back to earth. For centuries they believed that Halloween was a night when witches walked on flew and ghosts ,devils and spirits were on the loose. People built fires on hilltops to scare off the evil spirits.The traditional Halloween colours are orange and black.It was the time when orange flames lit up in the black night.They also scared the ghosts away by wearing costumes made of animals’ heads, fur and skins.

Nowaday Halloween is one of the best holidays for children. English and American boys and girls celebrate it on October, 31.They wear different masks and colorful costumes.The most popular costumes are ghosts,witches,and skeletons. After dressing up children go out into the streets to beg.They walk door to door in the neighborhood and shout “Trick or treat”, meaning “Give us a treat or we’ll play a trick on you!” People give the children sweets,cookies and apples.In our country “Halloween is a time for games,fun and fortune telling, for ghosts stories and making mischief. Everyone has to look scary on Halloween.

5ученик:Do you know any spooky stories?I’ve heard some in the summer camp. Let’s listen to them.Who will start? Let us count.(звучит считалка).

We are glad and very bright

We all dance and sing and recite

Welcome,Welcome, Halloween night!You!

6ученик:A story of a gloomy kingdom.In that kingdom there is a city ,in that city there is a town ,in that town there is a street, in that street there is a lane, in that lane there is a yard, in that yard there is a house, in that house there is a room, in the room there is a bookcase, in that bookcase there is a box, in that box there is a… SCULL!!!Did you like it?

3ученик:Not a bad one!But it isn’t frightening. Here is my story.In the dark dark wood there was a dark dark house.In the dark dark house there was a dark dark room.(dark walls,darkwindow,dark curtains.)

Behind those dark dark  curtains there was a ..BLACK HAND!GIVE ME YOUR HEART!

3ученик:Mm, it seems to me a bit of childish!Recently I was told a new story “The Green Ribbon’’.

Once there lived a girl named Jenny.She was like all other girls except one thing.She always wore a green ribbon around her neck.There was a boy named Alfred in her class.Alfred liked Jenny, and Jenny liked Alfred too.One day Alfred asked Jenny:”Why do you wear this ribbon all the time?”And Jenny would say”:Oh,it’s not important”.

Jenny and Alfred grew up and fell in love. One day they got married.After their wedding Alfred said:”Now, when we are married,you must tell me all the truth about the green ribbon.”You must wait.I’ll tell you when the right time comes”,said Jenny.Years passed, Jenny and Alfred grew old. One evening Jenny became very sick .The doctor said that she was dying, Jenny called Alfred to her side.”Alfred ,now I can tell you about the green ribbon .Untie it ,and you will see why I couldn’t tell you before.”Slowly,slowly and very carefully Alfred untied the green ribbon and Jenny’s head…FELL OFF!!!

2ученик:Oh,it’s too dark in the street!Let’s light the candle! Have you heard about Jack-o-lantern ?It’s a symbol of Halloween! It’s a favorite custom to make Jack-o-lantern. Children scrape out a pumpkin and cut eyes ,a nose and a mouth. They put the candle inside the pumpkin to scare their friends. But some people carve happy, funny and merry faces.

A smaller boy: Sisiter, sister, I know how to make Jack-o-lantern !Our teacher told it at the lesson of English!1.Take a huge yellow pumpkin.2.Cut eyes,a nose and a mouth.3.Put the candle inside the pumpkin.4.Light the candle.5.Put the pumpkin on the windows or on the doorsteps.

3ученик:A good boy! You don’t waste time at  school. There is a long living legend about Jack-o-lantern

.An old Irish legend tells us of a wicked man called Jack.During his lifetime he did very bad deeds.When he died he was forbidden to enter Heaven.He had to wander the Earth and find the place to rest.When the devil met Jack,he gave him a piece of burning coal to lighten his way.Jack put it into a turnip.He made some kind of a lantern.The Irish children used to carve smiling faces on turnips.They called the carved turnips “boggles”.They carried the boggles on Halloween night to scare away witches.When many Irish people moved to the USA, they brought their Halloween beliefs and customs with them.In America Irish children carved pumpkins instead of turnips.They put a candle inside a pumpkin.The Irish remembered the story of bad old Jack and lantern.This way the carved pumpkin became Jack-o-lantern.

5ученик: Our girls seem a bit scared,don’t they?Its high time to play and sing. (Дети поют,играют и инсценируют песню,можно использовать маски,костюмы или рисунки.)Игра типа «Репки».

1.The pumpkin in the patch(2р)Hi-ho on Halloween , the pumpkin in the patch.

2.The pumpkin calls a witch(2р),Hi-ho on Halloween ,the pumpkin calls a witch.

3.The witch calls a devil(2p),Hi-ho on Halloween, the witch calls a devil.

4.The devil calls a bat(2p),Hi-ho on Halloween , the devil calls a bat.

5.The bat calls a ghost(2p), Hi-ho on Halloween , the bat calls a ghost.

6.The ghost scares us all(2P),Hi-ho on Halloween, the ghost scares us all.

7.We all scare the ghost(2p),Hi-ho on Halloween , we all scare the ghost.(Ребята корчат рожицы.)

2ученик:Oh, look,a black cat is passing by.It's a bad luck!

4ученик:Don’t be afraid.It’ only a cat!By the way,do you know any superstitions?At the previous lesson our English teacher told us about the popular superstitions in England and America. Some of them are similar to the Russian ones.(Дети по очереди рассказывают и демонстрируют популярные приметы и предрассудки).

1Some people in Britain are certain that if they put new shoes on the table they will have a bad luck.

2.The English won’t kill a spider, especially the small red spiders called money spiders as this is very unlucky.

3.The most unlucky thing is to break a mirror.This brings seven years of bad luck.

4.It’s unlucky to go under a ladder.

5.If you see a pin and pick it up ,all the day you’ll have a good luck.See a pin and let it lie ,you will have bad luck until you die.

6.While horses are so lucky,but in some places you must cross your fingers until you see a dog or you will have a bad luck.

7.The number 13 is the most unlucky number and the combination of Friday with the number of 13 is a day of a real disaster for superstitious people.

5ученик:Wow!I can’t but mention the story about the girl who unfortunately went shopping exactly on Friday ,13.Poor her parents who sent her for food.(Инсценируется песенка”The world must be coming to an end.”)

“I sent her for cheese, oh then, oh. then,I sent her for cheese, oh then

  I sent her for cheese, but she fell and broke her knees

  Oh, the world must be coming to an end, oh then!(2.eggs-legs.3.Brtead-head.3.Meat-feet.

3.ученик:Yes, such unpleasant things do happen in our life!But I know how to avoid the things that bring bad luck.If you ever meet a black cat or break a mirror, just keep your fingers crossed, touch a button on your clothes or spit over your left shoulder 3times, as all Russians do(тьфу,тьфу,тьфу) and everything will be all right.

4ученик: And I know what to say if a ghost ever scares,just say( все участники кричат хором):

Criss, cross,double cross, ghost, get lost!(2раза)

В это время из близлежащих домов доносятся голоса родителей)”It’s too late and dark in the streets.It’s high time you were in your beds!”

Epilogue:

Дело было вечером, делать было нечего, поиграли, постращали, всех до смерти напугали

Рассказали про приметы, спели разные куплеты, научились отгонять ведьм, скелетов, дьяволят

Избегать бед и несчастий, неприятностей, напастей.

Всё, устали, уморились, разбежались по домам, к теплым мягоньким постелькам,

К мамам, бабушкам ,отцам.

Вам же,гости дорогие,мы б хотели пожелать-праздник этот наш запомнить, ежегодно отмечать!

Пусть оставит в сердце праздник день последний Октября,

Потому что происходит в этой жизни все не зря!

(Все участники мероприятия берутся за руки и поют куплет на мотив песни «Пусть всегда будет солнце»)

Let there always be sunshine, let there always be blue skies,

Let there always be bright day, ENGLISH, HALLOWEEN, HURRAY!!!
