Ведущий 1:     Good afternoon, dear friends. I am very glad to see you at our party “The Beatles”.I know there are a lot of fans of this group in our school. You have read a lot of information; you know and love their songs. Today you will remember and enjoy the songs of this outstanding band. I am sure it will be very interesting.  So we’ll start.

Ведущий 2:    Today we are going to talk about “The Beatles”, the “legendary four”. The Beatles changed pop music forever! More and more people began to listen to pop music than before. The Beatles was created in 1962. During the 1960s the Beatles were at the high of their glory: newspaper headlines, films and world-tours. Their new style of singing and their unusual haircuts immediately become the latest fashion.

Ведущий 1:   Let`s speak about the name of the group”The Beatles”, what do you think the word mean?

  It’s widely known that the name of the group 'THE BEATLES" is a combination of two words - beat that means удар, аккорд , and beetles mean жуки .So, these words are – beat and beetle (жуки-ударники).

John Lennon formed this group and he was the leader of "The Beatles". He created the name for the Beatles.

Ведущий 2.: From their first single "Love Me Do" in 1962, people recognized something different in their music than the usual pop songs at the time.

Ведущий 1:         The Beatles were a hugely successful band during the 1960-s. The “legendary four” соnsisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star.(показ слайдов на презентации) Аnd now we`ll listen a few words about their biographies.

Ведущий 2.: John Lennon was a poet, a composer, a soloist, a guitarist, a musician, a writer and one of the greatest men in popular music.

Ведущий 1:  Paul McCartney was a poet, a drummer, a soloist, a guitarist, a musician, a producer, and a writer. From all the Beatles Paul McCartney made the most successful solo career.

Ведущий 2.George Harrison was a musician, a composer, a guitarist, a soloist, a gardener, a film producer and a record producer.

Ведущий 1:   Ringo Star was a drummer, a composer, a musician, a singer. His real name was Richard Starky.

Ringo Star wrote “Yellow Submarine”.

Their early music was influenced by the American rock singers Chuck BERRY and Elvis PRESLEY, but they combined their musical form with freshness, vitality, and wit. The release of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" in 1964 marked the beginning of the phenomenon known as "Beatlemania" in the United States. It was the word to describe the reaction of fans all over the world. Their concerts were scenes of mass worship, and their records sold in the millions.

Ведущий 1 .: Their next single "Please, Please Me" reached number one in March 1963.

When the media focused on its new group it soon became obvious, that Lennon was not like other pop stars. His answer to reporter’s questions showed an unusual intelligent and wet. His character soon shone out: he always kept his rebellious streak, and hated pretension. He was never quite comfortable with the Beatles "nice" image.

In fact it was Lennon who began to break away from this image and change the public image of the Beatles.The Beatles grew beards and long hair. They were no longer those four clean-cut young men that even parents liked.

Ведущий 2.: During the 1960 the Beatles were always in the news headlines: film, world tours and sometimes scandals. John once suggested that the Beatles were better known than Jesus Christ. Many more people began to listen to pop music than before. People sang their songs and sing nowadays.

Ведущий 1 .: Love is the main theme In Beatles' songs and this melody is known practically by everybody. It's "Michael" - one of the famous Beatles' songs. Do you like it?

Ведущий 2.: All four the Beatles were born during 1940s and grew up in the seasport of Liverpool, the city on the banks of the River Mersey.

John, Paul, George and Ringo became more than just pop stars, They became the voice of a new generation.

But in 1966, Lennon met Japanese artist Yoko Ono. She brought something new to his life, and soon he found there was more he wanted to do on his own, or with Yoko Ono, than he wanted to do with "The Beatles". In 1968 he told the other Beatles of his decision to leave.

Ведущий 1 .: This year Beatles formed "The Apple Corporation", they started their own business. They made interesting and original films, too - for example "Help" and "A Hard Day's Night".

Ведущий 2.: The real split came in 1971 when Paul McCartney also decided their partnership should end.

"The Beatles" became nationally famous in England. One of their songs from the film "Help" became classical not only in the pop music but in the history of music at all. Nowadays more than two thousand variants of this song are used.

This is the famous "Yesterday". For the first time Paul McCartney, the author of this song, called it "Scrambled Egg."

Ведущий 1:   John Lennon was killed in 1980. George Harrisson died in 2001. "The Beatles" became nationally famous in England. They became the most successful pop group the world has ever known.

In 1962 "The Beatles" made up new kind of music, they created rock-n-roll, the world liked it and danced rock-n-roil under the Beatles' songs. If you like let`s sing this song altogether.
