Цель: развитие монологической речи учащихся с использованием новых выражений, формирование целостного представления о мире, об общих проблемах, стоящих перед человечеством в XXI веке.
Задачи:
- Совершенствование навыков чтения, говорения, развитие умения применять в речи изученную лексику;
- Расширение словарного запаса, общего кругозора;
- Формирование бережного отношения к окружающей среде.

Тип урока: Урок закрепления и совершенствования знаний
Цель: развитие монологической речи учащихся с использованием новых выражений, формирование целостного представления о мире, об общих проблемах, стоящих перед человечеством в XXI веке.
Задачи:
- Совершенствование навыков чтения, говорения, развитие умения применять в речи изученную лексику;
- Расширение словарного запаса, общего кругозора;
- Формирование бережного отношения к окружающей среде.
Оборудование: УМК, доска, проектор, компьютерные презентации.
Ход урока
- Организационный момент. Введение в тему урока.
What do you think about the theme of our lesson? What will we talk about?
Today at the lesson we’ll talk about the environmental protection and the ecological problems. Answer my questions:
- What is the environment? (The environment is everything around us. It includes all living things. It also includes everything that is not alive, such as the soil, the air and the water.)
- What is ecology? (Ecology is the science that studies the conditions of the habitat of man, animals and plants for the benefit of present and future generations.)
- Are there any ecological problems nowadays? What are they? (Pollution is the main problem especially: air and water pollution)

V. Совершенствование речевых навыков. Проверка домашнего задания.

Open your books at p. 51. ex. 40. Try to answer my questions.
- What is the first problem concerning all of us? (The problem is that people throw away too much litter. )
- What can we do with the litter? (We can recycle the litter.)
Recycling the litter is a very serious problem. Who can tell us about it? (пересказ текстов )
- Do you throw the rubbish away or put it into the bins? (As for me, I put the rubbish into the bins.)
- Are there different bins in our streets? (No, there is usually one bin for any kind of the rubbish.)
At home you have prepared different reports about our nature and how we can protect and take care of it. Tell us, please.

The ways of life in many parts of the world have changed. This is the result of changes in the weather and the climate in many parts of the world. Besides this there are great numbers of large factories, plants, electric power stations[1] and railways all over the world. And today there are millions of cars and lorries on the roads. So the water and the air are already not so clean. Fires also destroy the work of Nature. Big forests in many places have been burnt. People have always hunted valuable animals for their skins, their fur, and also for meat. People themselves have destroyed wildlife. Different animals, birds and fish began long ago disappear one after the other. For a long time people did not see the danger. Now many people understand that they have wasted their national riches, and try their best to protect Nature.

- What do people do to protect nature in our country? (In our country people are not allowed to hunt rare animals. They must not pick the flowers of valuable plants. Special people take care of wild animals: they build feeding stations and grow rare, useful plants.)
- Are there laws for the protection of nature? (In most countries today there are laws for the protection of Nature, but in some countries people don't yet obey these laws.)

The environment needs to be cleaned up. Unfortunately, millions of people on our planet live in areas in which the air is not safe to breathe. The biggest problem is ozone. Ozone can age our lungs prematurely making us more susceptible to dangerous diseases, including cancer.
Human activities can make the environment unhealthy. The gasoline burned inside car produces gases that poison the air. Factories burn fuels to run machines, and these burning fuels, too, put poisons into the air.
Air pollution can also cause a kind of water pollution called acid rain. Sulfur and nitrogen compounds mix with moisture in the air and fall to Earth in rain or snow. Then this acid water runs into rivers and lakes. Human activities also poison water. Some factories produce liquid wastes that run into rivers too. The rivers and lakes become so acid that fish cannot survive, and neither can trees and other plants.

- What is the problem of your report?( Problems with the health of the environment are still with us. But by knowing about them, we can do something. Humans can care for the environment so it will be a healthier place for all living things.)
- Do the scientists study the environment? (Many scientists study the environment. When there is a problem, they try to find out why. Then they look for ways to stop the problem.
Scientists have also helped find ways to reduce air and water pollution. New cars burn fuel better and produce fewer poisons.)
Our planet is a wonderful place, isn’t it? We must take care of it.

There are a lot of interesting things around us in the woods, in the mountains, at the seaside, at the rivers.
The world around us is beautiful. If we keep our eyes open, we can learn a lot of interesting things about animals and birds, woods, rivers, lakes, seas.
It's really nice to walk in the woods or go camping if people remember to keep nature rules: don't make a fire in the woods, don't break trees, don't leave dirty paper and other things on the ground, keep rivers, ponds, lakes and seas clean, plant trees and flowers, leave food, corn and nuts for birds and animals in winter, put up bird houses.
I think both grown-ups and children must take care of the nature.
