Цель:
научить учащихся высказывать свое мнение о преимуществах и недостатках телевидения.
Задачи:
- Обучающие:
Вовлечь учащихся в активную речевую деятельность, с применением ранее приобретенных знаний, умений и навыков
- Развивающие:
- развивать навык отбора информации в тексте;
- Развивать критическое и логическое мышление при постановке проблемы, умение аргументировано высказываться.
- Воспитательные:
- воспитывать терпимое отношение к мнению других людей
- учить вести дискуссию
Оборудование: компьютер, интерактивная доска, наглядные пособия
Ход урока
I. Oрг момент.

Let’s start our lesson
II. Выявление цели урока силами учащихся.
Teacher: Look at the blackboard. What is the theme of our lesson?
Student: The theme of our lesson “TV or not TV?”
We can’t imagine our life without TV. There are TV-sets in every house.
So, today we will point out the positive and negative sides of TV.
III. Работа над лексикой (Повторение)

V. Раскрытие цели урока силами учащихся.
На доске нарисовать телевизор, как коробку с одним глазом.
Student 1: It is a box
Teacher: What kind of box is it?
Student 2: It is a magic box.
Здесь добавляем усики наверху ящика (Антенны)
Teacher: Why is it a magic box?
Student 3: Because it shows us the world.
Student 4: It educates
Student 5: It informs us
Student 6: It gives us company when we need it
Student 7: It develops different skills.
Все ответы в краткой форме пишутся с левой стороны нарисованного телевизора
Teacher: What is TV set else?
Student 1: It is a goggle box.
Вот это слово пишется в середине под рисунком.
Student 2: It is one-eyed monster.
Teacher: Why is it a Monster
Student 1: Because it eats up time
Student 2: It kills conversations
Student 3: Some programmes are annoy able
Student 4: Too much violence is shown on TV.
Student 5: TV can be harmful to our health.
Student 6: Watching TV we can’t go outdoors, to the cinemas, theatres, restaurants and even we can’t visit our friends, relatives.
Teacher: When TV can de useful to you?
Student 2: When we watch TV selectively.
VI. As for the Advantages and disadvantages of TV I offer you such work. Divide into 2 groups (the first one – to find the advantages of watching TV, the second one - to find the disadvantages of watching TV)
The task is to look through the text and find the Advantages and disadvantages of TV.
Advantages and disadvantages of TV
Watching TV, you know, is the perfect way to spend our free time. Do you agree? Or maybe you don’t?
It’s a well known fact that TV has good and bad sides.
First of all it keeps people informed; we can learn a lot of information watching TV. We can choose programs that appeal to us more, because TV provides programs for all interests. Sometimes with the help of TV we can relax, entertain ourselves, especially when we are tired.
Advertisement on TV gives us information about different products, and it makes it easier to choose things to buy. When we watch TV we learn something new about the world, famous people and recent news.
But, on the other hand, TV has a lot of disadvantages. It takes a lot of time and it makes us lazy. Besides, it’s very harmful for our health, especially for our eyes. Some violent programs and films on TV make people violent. Violence becomes a vital problem in our days.
There is too much advertisement on TV. Sometimes it can encourage us to buy things we don’t need at all. Watching TV takes all free time from almost all people. We just watch it, not concentrate, and waste time.
So, we can’t say exactly whether it’s useful to watch TV or not, as TV has its advantages and disadvantages.
Millions people in the world spend hours watching TV every day… But what for? Do people really think it’s the best way to spend time?
Many people become TV-addicted and it’s really a problem of our time. But the fact is that “so many people, so many minds!”
