Ход мероприятия

- Hello, boys and girls! I am glad to see you again and today we are going to show our best! It’s time for the game and I wish all of you good luck! There are 3 teams in our game.

-Team № 1 7th А class

-Team № 2 7th B class

-Team № 3 7th V class

Will you choose the captains, please! You have 1 minute to think (учащиеся совещаются, выбирают капитана команды)

- So I think we are ready to start. Who`s the captain of the 7th A class, 7th B class, 7th V class? (обращение к 7а, 7б, 7в классу)

- In our game you`ll have 8 tasks, for each correct answer you`ll get a point, a team with the most correct answers is the winner.

-We have got a jury : Иванова Катя, Кушнир Лера and Соха Соня

They will help me to add up the scores.

Task 1. «Proverbs» You have got cards with English and Russian Proverb. Your task is to find the equivalents of the English proverbs.(Команды получают карточки с русскими и английскими пословицами).

- You have got 3 minutes.

- Fill in your answers in the table

- Your time is up (Ваше время истекло)

Task 2. «Quiz». Your task is to answer my questions. The first team which gives the correct answer gets a point.

1. What`s the first day in English calendar? (Sunday)

2. What`s the capital of Great Britain? (London)

3. When is Christmas celebrated? (25th of December)

4. What holiday has a symbol as a pumpkin (Halloween)

5. What time do people have tea time in London ? (5o`clock)

6. What`s the name of the ruler of the United Kingdom (queen Elizabeth II)

7. How many parts does the UK consist of? (4 parts- England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland)

8. What river does London stand on? (the Thames)

9. What`s the name of the palace where the Queen lives? (Buckingham palace)

10. Where do men wear skirts? (Scotland)

Task 3. «Words». I will show you a long English word. Your task is to make as many English words as it possible (no names, countries, cities). You have got three minutes.

Task 4. «Poems». In this task we are going to check how well you can read poems, but in an unusual way. You take a card and read a poem in this way. You have 3 minutes to prepare. (каждая команда получает стихотворение и выбирают карточку с каким чувством читают стихотворение).

Task 5. «Books, books, books». On the blackboard you can see 4 covers of different books. (прочитать названия книг). You have got 4 extracts from these books. Your task is to read extracts and match them to the correct cover.

Task 6. «Tongue twisters». One person from each team chooses a tongue twister. Your task is to read it as quickly as it possible. You have 2 minutes to prepare.

Task 7. «Guess» A lot of shops and businesses choose their names which indicate what they sell or do. Can you indentify the trade from their names? Match. (Команды соединяют названия фирм с тем, чем они занимаются или продают.  В названиях компаний есть подсказки)

Task 8. «Captain time». Captains from each team comes to the blackboard and takes a card with a topic. The task is to explain or mime the words to the correspondent topic. You have got 2 minutes.
