CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION Burning of Fuels: Pollution from vehicles including trucks, jeeps, cars, trains, airplanes, etc. Agricultural activities: Usage of insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural activities has grown quite a lot. They emit harmful chemicals into the air and can also cause water pollution. Emission from factories and industries. Mining operations: During the mining process dust and chemicals are released in the air causing massive air pollution. Indoor air pollution: Household cleaning products, painting supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution.

Short-term effects include irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, headaches and allergic reactions. Long-term health effects can include chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer, heart disease, and even damage to the brain, nerves. WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION?

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION? Harmful gases like nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides are released into the atmosphere during the burning of fossil fuels. When it rains, the water droplets combines with these air pollutants, becomes acidic and then falls on the ground in the form of acid rain. Acid rain can cause great damage to human, animals and crops.

EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION Respiratory and heart problems: Several millions are known to have died due to direct or indirect effects of Air pollution. Children suffer from pneumonia and asthma. Global warming: With increased temperatures world wide, increase in sea levels and melting of ice from colder regions and icebergs. Acid Rains: can cause great damage to human, animals and crops. Effect on Wildlife: Toxic chemicals present in the air can force wildlife species to move to new place and change their habitat.

AIR POLLUTION PREVENTION & SOLUTION Government level prevention Some governments are investing in wind energy and solar energy, as well as other renewable energy , to minimize burning of fossil fuels, which cause heavy air pollution. Governments are also forcing companies to be more responsible with their manufacturing activities – for example, to install filters Car manufacturing companies are also building more energy efficient cars, which pollute less than before. Individual Level Prevention Encourage the family to use the bus, train or bike instead of a car. If we all do this, there will be fewer cars on the road and less fumes produced. Use energy (light, water, boiler, kettle and fire woods) wisely . Recycle and re-use things .
