План-конспект урока

Цель урока: формировать навык устной речи по теме и лексико-грамматических умений при выражении своего мнения о роли телевидения в современной жизни.

Задачи: Обучающие

Способствовать:

1. Активизации лексики по теме «Телевидение».
2. Развитию лексических и грамматических навыков в устной речи, чтении по данной теме.
3. Формированию навыков аудирования по теме: «Виды ТВ- программ».
4. Формированию монологической и диалогической речи по теме, умения выражать своё мнение.
5. Развитию умений поискового вида чтения.

Развивающие 

Способствовать:

1. Развитию умения анализировать изученную

информацию; умения выражать и анализировать свое мнение относительно темы урока.

2. Развитию памяти.

3. Развитию мотивации к изучаемой теме.

Воспитательные

Способствовать:

1.Воспитанию уважения к мнению других людей, формирования умения вести беседу, диалог, соблюдать речевой этикет.

Good morning, dear pupils! At our previous lesson we spoke about the role of television.

Today we’re going to discuss advantages and disadvantages of TV and TV programmes and we’ll talk about your favourite channels and programmes, about your TV habits. At the end of our lesson you should say about advantages and disadvantages of TV. I hope you’ll take an active part in the lesson.

Television.

The first commercial television broadcast was made on April 20, 1939 by Radio Corporation оf America. Since 1939, TV has become one of the most important facts of modern life. Television is very much a part of the modern world and its effects are felt all over the world.

Television is a reflection, say some people, of contemporary society. It affects customs and culture, others say.

Television is bad for society, because it keeps culture from growing, say still others. Good or bad, television is difficult to avoid. Its pictures enter homes, stores, airports, and offices. It is here to stay.

Advantages and disadvantages of TV

Watching TV, you know, is the perfect way to spend our free time. Do you agree? Or maybe you don’t? It’s a well known fact that TV has good and bad sides.

First of all it keeps people informed; we can learn a lot of information watching TV. We can choose programs that appeal to us more, because TV provides programs for all interests. Sometimes with the help of TV we can relax, entertain ourselves, especially when we are tired.

Advertisement on TV gives us information about different products, and it makes it easier to choose things to buy. When we watch TV we learn something new about the world, famous people and recent news.

But, on the other hand, TV has a lot of disadvantages. It takes a lot of time and it makes us lazy. Besides, it’s very harmful for our health, especially for our eyes. Some violent programs and films on TV make people violent. Violence becomes a vital problem in our days.

There is too much advertisement on TV. Sometimes it can encourage us to buy things we don’t need at all. Watching TV takes all free time from almost all people. We just watch it, not concentrate, and waste time.

So, we can’t say exactly whether it’s useful to watch TV or not, as TV has its advantages and disadvantages.

Millions people in the world spend hours watching TV every day… But what for? Do people really think it’s the best way to spend time?

Many people become TV-addicted and it’s really a problem of our time. But the fact is that “so many people, so many minds!” And what do you think?

For you watching TV is a way of escaping from reality. TV keeps you company and doesn't ask for much in return. Be careful not to isolate yourself from others or give up more interesting things. Sometimes it's good to escape from reality, but it's important that you shouldn't do it too often.

Television isn't very important for you. It's no problem to give it up if there's something more interesting to do. But if you have to stay at home you watch whatever's on that night. So, be careful not to be too superficial in choiсe!

You've got an active relationship with TV. You have a good critical sense and know how to choose programmes. Be careful not to give TV too much importance and don't let it influence your language and way of life too much. Sometimes it's better to read a book.

TV Violence / Насилие на телевидении

Violence is one of the most primary and controversial issues in today’s society. And true that violence is on the rise. A major concern for many parents is the violence within television shows and movies, and the effect on children’s aggression. I particularly do not believe that violence in television affects children’s aggression, but who am I to say such a thing, for I am not a qualified psychologist. But I have many reasons for my accusation and references to back it up. Now television plays a major role in today’s society, and it occupies almost every home in the United States. Parents have such a big concern for the children watching television, but children throughout the U.S watch an average of twenty hours of television. So I posed the first question. Who allows these children to watch so much television? Obvious question answered with the complainers.

Many studies show that television does have an effect on children’s aggression, but also on their knowledge, and their ability to decide from right and wrong. In a certain study, researched showed that young boys who watched non-violent television tend to be more aggressive than boys who watch violent television. Another point is that violence is apparent regardless where it comes from, whether it is from cartoons, movies, or the news. So take away all the shows and movies that incorporate violence, what’s left? The news, which shows the most drastic and real violence that, is apparent to everyone even if you do not watch it. It still affects everyone. But lets look at the big picture. Cartoons play the majority of the role. They have been around for centuries. So why make such a big deal about them now? Are the cartoons in earlier years any different from newer cartoons? Yes I agree, but there is a purpose. The Monaco 2 newer cartoons attract the newer generation. If parents say that cartoons now are more violent than those of earlier years than why are there so many, and so many different ratings accompanied with the beginning of every show. What about «Bugs Bunny» and «Daffy Duck» with «Elmer Fudd,» and how many fights and hunting scenes there was. What about «Road Runner» and how many times «Wylie Coyote» tried to kill him. All these cartoons amused many children in earlier years and present years. So why start complaining now? Can parents not control their children? Maybe parents should pay more close attention to what their children watch, instead of making excuses and blaming others for practically their own decisions. Because it was their decision to have children, right?

Like all children’s shows and movies, it let’s the mind run free, and also let’s the children be imaginative within their own realm of mind. So let’s not take these away, and just try to limit what they watch. Let us rate these shows and movies. Oh yeah, the government did that. But yet parents still let children watch the movies and shows that they did not want to watch in the first place. Is there something wrong here? Parents complain, laws are passed to limit what their children watch, but parents still let the children watch them?hmm. I think that the parents are just looking for a scapegoat to rid them of their faults as parents, for them not to look bad.

Many researchers have study this one particular question. Does viewing television affect children’s aggression? Well I think I have made my point. Respectively, television does play a factor in dealing with aggression within children, but not to a great extent. I believe strongly in it, that if parents can control what their children watch then there would not be such a problem. Hey wow!! I seem like a future early childhood parental counselor. Maybe it’s a future career.
