Цели: 

• Формирование у учащихся культуры бережного отношения к окружающей среде через средства английского языка.
• Формирование иноязычных коммуникативных компетенций учащихся.

Задачи:

Воспитательные:

• способствовать воспитанию бережного отношения к окружающей среде;
• вызвать интерес к изучаемой проблеме;
• способствовать формированию взаимоуважения, самоуважения;
• способствовать формированию культуры поведения, толерантности, необходимости использовать правила вежливого поведения, культуры речи во время общения;
• стимулировать творческую активность.

Практические:

• формировать навыки устной речи посредством составления собственных высказываний;
• совершенствование лексических навыков учащихся (лексика по теме «Ecology»),
• совершенствование грамматических навыков, совершенствование фонетических навыков учащихся;
• развитие умений говорения.

Образовательные:

• ученики учатся обсуждать проблемы окружающей среды, проблемы планеты, о том, что  можно сделать общими усилиями для изменения создавшейся ситуации. Научить обмениваться информацией.

 Развивающие:

• способствовать развитию памяти, мышления, логики, внимания, познавательного интереса, творческих способностей, самостоятельности;
• развивать языковую догадку, языковое чутье;
• способствовать расширению кругозора учащихся, развитию критического и творческого мышления;
• способствовать повышению мотивации к учению;
• способствовать формированию универсальных учебных действий.

Тип урока: обобщающий, урок – дискуссия.

1.Приветствие

T: Good morning, boys and girls

T: Who is on duty today?

P1: I am on duty today.

T: What day of the week is it today?

P1: Today is Tuesday.

T: What’s the date?

P: Today is the 13thof December.

T: Is anybody absent?

P: All a present today.

Let’s pronounce the following words. Repeat after me, please.

[r] – bury, rubbish, throw away, recycle, recyclable, protect

[p] – paper, pet food, pollution, packaging

[k] – can, container, countryside, cut

[s] – stuff, useful, waste, instead

T: Try to find out what problem we’ll discuss today.

P: Environment.

T: Thank you. Good of you.Please answer my questions. What is “Environment”?

P1 – Environment is everything around us.

P2 – The water we drink.

P3 – The soil we walk on.

P4 – The air we breathe.

P5 – Nature with its variety.

P6 – Animals.

Very good. Now, I’d like to know, what words do you associate with the word «Environment».

Possible answers: Water, sky, river, forest, birds, animals, nature, and people.

During our lesson we are studying about the environment and the most important problems of our planet and discuss all possible ways of solving these problems.Let’s start.

Now look at these pictures and say which ecological problems you know.

Boys and girls, we have named some of the ecological problems. Now let’s create ecological signs to these pictures and put them down on the blackboard.

P1: Stop killing animals!

P2: Don’t build power stations! Don’t pollute the air!

P3: Stop cutting down trees!

P4: Don’t dump waste from factories into rivers!

Let us to do some tasks. Well, now we know what ecological problems are, but what should people do to protect nature?

Make please sentences using "People should" and "People shouldn't".

Now I suggest having some brainstorm. Imagine that you were the President of some state. What would you do to protect the environment? Make up sentences beginning with “If I were the President…” You have 1 minute to do this task.

Now I’m sure you’ll remember all these words and speech patterns and try to use them in your speech.

We have a text, but some words are missing. You are to fill in missing words. Beware: there is an extra word!

Water pollution

Water is necessary for life on the Earth. It is in oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. But very little water on the Earth is good for _____________ because it is dirty. Some factories and companies ________ chemical wastes, millions of tons of oil into the sea every year. We can only imagine how many seabirds and animals, fish, shellfish die in such water.

It is dangerous to walk barefoot on the banks of the rivers and to swim in our lakes because there is a lot of _____________, broken glass, and plastic, tins, and bottles, thrown everywhere. Some people wash their ___________, bicycles in our rivers and lakes.

Many territories and our atmosphere __________________________ with different kinds of technological, chemical, nuclear wastes. The intensive development of sciences, industry and chemistry nowadays has made the pollution of our environment a _____________ problem which should be solved by all means.
