Упражнения к рассказу А. Кристи «Немейский лев».
Уроки домашнего чтения предусматривают приобретение учащимися языковой практики в восприятии письменной речи, а именно чтении литературы на иностранном языке. Эти уроки направлены на выработку навыков в восприятии письменного текста на английском языке, так как на практике они часто оказываются важнее навыков устной речи, потому что чаше используются в в повседневной жизни.
В условиях, когда устная языковая практика не всегда доступна, чтение литературы является естественным способом закрепления приобретенных навыков. Немаловажным является то, что чтение иностранной литературы представляет собой не просто заучивание грамматического или лексического материала, а проникновение в суть языка, умение существовать в языковой среде, осознать, что язык не является собранием правил и тренировочных упражнений, а средством общения и познания мира.
Данные упражнения помогают контролировать уровень понимания прочитанного, снять языковые трудности, тренировать в употреблении лексических единиц в контексте, варьировать употребление грамматических структур и развивать языковую догадку, а также развивать навыки устной речи и умение прогнозировать наряду с навыками спонтанной речи
