Данный материал состоит из примерных устных высказываний для беседы по 10 основным темам, изучаемым в курсе УМК «Звёздный английский» для 4 класса, и может быть использован для подготовки выпускников начальной школы к итоговой аттестации за курс начальной школы по английскому языку (раздел «Устная речь»). Включён лексико-грамматический тест, для контроля лексики и грамматики. Имеются упражнения по чтению и аудированию, то есть проводится полный контроль по всем разделам.

- My flat

I have tea with lemon, a sandwich and porridge for breakfast. After breakfast I go to school. My lessons begin at 9 am and end at 2 pm. I usually have 5 lessons every day. At school I study Maths, English, Russian and many other subjects. After school I come home, have dinner and do my homework. I often have soup, fish and chips, juice for dinner. Then I go to the swimming pool. I like to swim very much. In the evening I read books, watch TV with my family and go for a walk with my dog. At 10 pm I go to bed.

- Animals
There are a lot of animals in the world. They are wild and domestic. Lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, elephants are wild. Cows, sheep, goats, horses are domestic. Some animals are very big, others are small and funny. People usually go to the Zoo to watch animals. You can see lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, elephants, monkeys and many other animals there. Sometimes children can feed animals and play with them. Children have some animals as pets. They are dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles and others.
I would like to tell you about a whale. It’s my favourite animal. It’s the biggest animal in the seas and oceans. It has got a big mouth and a big tail. Whales do not close their eyes when sleep because they have no eyelids. It can swim and dive well. It’s a smart and strong animal.
- Seasons
There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. March, April and May are spring months. June, July and August are summer months. September, October and November are autumn months. December, January and February are winter months. It’s warm and sunny in spring. When it’s warm, I can walk in the park. When it’s sunny, I can play with my friends. It’s cloudy, rainy and windy in autumn. When it’s rainy, I can draw pictures. When it’s windy, I can read books at home. It’s cold and snowy in winter. When it’s snowy, I can ski and skate. It’s hot and sunny in summer. When it’s hot, I can dive and swim. I like summer. It’s my favourite season. I can see a lot of grass and flowers in summer. I can ride a bike and a scooter. I can play badminton. My favourite game is tennis. When it’s sunny and hot, we can have a picnic in the park or go to the river.
- Russia
I live in Russia. Russia is the largest country in the world. My country’s flag is white, red and blue. There are many big cities, small towns and green villages in our country. There are many long rivers, deep lakes and high mountains in Russia. Thousands of people visit them every year. A lot of people live in Russia. The capital of Russia is Moscow. Moscow is very big and beautiful. It is on the Moskva River. There are a lot of parks and squares in Moscow. There are also theatres, museums and cinemas there. There is the largest Botanical Garden in Europe and the Moscow Zoo here. St. Petersburg is my native city. Today the city stands on 42 islands. It is on the Neva River with 542 bridges. St. Petersburg is the most beautiful city. Everybody should know the history of St. Petersburg. There are more than 100 museums here. In St. Petersburg there are many parks and gardens. I love St. Petersburg.
- Our environment
Our Earth is our home. There are many big and small rivers, green forests, high mountains, lakes and seas, different animals and plants in Russia. Today, our planet is in serious danger. Without plants, people couldn't live. I love being close to nature and I think about it all time. We’ve got the planet in our hands, understand it! We should look after the countryside, keep off the grass, put out our camp fires, take care of animals and their homes and plant trees. We shouldn’t drop litter and pick flowers. The first Earth Day was on 22nd April, 1970. Today, people from 174 countries celebrate Earth Day. It is a day when everyone tries to look after the planet. People plant trees and collect glass, paper and plastic to recycle. Earth Day is the day we celebrate that the Earth is beautiful and we need to take care of it! The people all over the world do everything to protect their nature, to make their country richer, to make their life happier.
- Travelling
Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other countries and continents, modem cities and ancient towns, they travel to enjoy interesting places. It's always interesting to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try different food. People can travel by car, by plane, by train and by sea. Who lives in the country likes to go to a big city and spends their time visiting museums and art galleries, looking at shop windows. Citizens usually like a quiet holiday by the sea or in the mountains with nothing to do but walk and bathe and laze in the sun.
Most travelers and holiday-makers take a camera with them and take pictures of everything that interests them. I think that traveling is very useful thing for us.
