Сценарий праздника

« CHRISTAS IS COMING»

Этот праздник будет интересен для детей, изучающих английский язык, а также для тех, кто интересуется традициями народов разных стран.

Оформление сцены (зала):

Канделябр со свечами (безопасными в пожарном отношении), детские чулочки, в которые, по преданию, должны укладываться гостинцы для ребятишек, наряженная новогодняя елочка и другие новогодние украшения, подарочные коробочки с надписью «HAPPY CHRISTMAS», — словом, все, что подсказывает  фантазия.

Во время праздника также будет разыгрываться сценка, поэтому необходимы декорации: детали, изображающие  мастерскую Санта-Клауса и детскую комнату Мэри и Джона. Необходимо несколько игрушек для декорации мастерской, где эльфы готовят детям подарки, хлопушка, открытки и письма, мандарины, 7 нарисованных оленей, угощение для Санта Клауса (молоко и печенье).

На сцену выходят учащиеся и знакомят гостей праздника с

Рождественскими традициями).

Christmas Traditions

Student 1:  Every Christmas we celebrate by singing Christmas Carols, giving presents to friends and family, sending Christmas cards, pulling Christmas crackers before eating turkey and lots of other fun things. All of these are Christmas Traditions – but why do we do them? Where do they come from?

Student 2:  Sir Henry Cole was the first person to make Christmas

cards in 1843. He printed 1000 cards and sold them from his London

Art shop. They were a big hit with the Victorians. Since then Christmas cards have become very popular with billions of cards being sent very year.

Student 3:  The tradition of giving presents at Christmas started with three   Wise Men who brought Jesus precious gifts on the first Christmas

Day.

Student 4: People have always celebrated Christmas with a special meal. Before Victorian Times people would eat roast beef, ham or goose for Christmas dinner. Today most people prefer turkey with all the trimmings for Christmas.

Student 5: Christmas trees had been popular in Germany since 700AD.

When Queen’s Victoria husband, Albert, moved to England from Germany he brought the tradition of decorating Christmas tree with him.

Student 6: Christmas crackers were invented by Tom Smith, a London sweet maker in 1846. The original idea was to wrap his sweets in a twist

of fancy colored paper, but they sold much better when he added love notes, paper hats, small toys and made them go off with a BANG!!!

Student 7: During the 12-th century St Francis of Assist formally introduced Christmas carols to church services. Christmas carols were banned in England by Oliver Cromwell between 1649 and 1660 but people continued to sing them in other countries. They became very popular in Victorian times when many “new” carols were written.

Student 8: Hanging stockings on the mantelpiece comes from the story of St Nicholas. Legend says that he threw a coin down a chimney and it landed in a stocking which was hung there to dry.

That is why we put tangerines in stockings too – they symbolize the gold coin.

Student 9: Holly has been used to decorate houses and churches for hundreds of years. The sharp leaves remind us of Jesus’ crown of thorns while the red berries remind us of his blood.

Narrator:     It’s Christmas time at the North Pole.

                   It’s snowing outside and very cold.

                   In Santa’s workshop the elves are busy.

                   But it’s Christmas time, so they are very happy!

Student:   The fairies and elves on last Christmas-tide
                Decided to open their hearts very wide,
                And spend extra time, throughout the whole year,
                In helping their grandfather—Santa Claus dear.

                "Our fingers are nimble. We'll quickly make toys
                Enough to supply all the girls and the boys,
                And Santa may watch us to see if it's right,
                So all will be ready before Christmas night."

Chief Elf:  Hurry up! Hurry up!

                 Christmas is coming!

Elf 1:        Christmas is coming!

                 Christmas is near!

Elf 3:        Christmas is coming!  

Elf 2:        Everyone cheer!

                (Раздается стук в дверь)

                Who’s at the door? Who can it be?

Elf 3:        Who’s at the door? Open and see!

Mrs. Claus: (Открывает дверь)

                    It’s Peter, the postman!

                    Please, come in!

Peter:          Hello everybody!

Chief Elf:     Hi, Peter! Come in!

Peter:          Here you are! This bag’s for you!

                   (Ставит на пол сумку с письмами)

Mrs. Claus:   It’s very big!!!

Chief Elf:    (Приподнимает сумку)

                    And heavy, too!

Peter:          It’s full of letters from around the world.

                    From every little boy and girl!

Chief Elf:    (Достает из сумки списки подарков)

                    Christmas lists for Santa Claus!

Elf 2:           From every little girls and boys!

Peter:         Well, Merry Christmas everyone!

                   I hope you have lots of fun!

Chief Elf:    Merry Christmas to you, too!

Elf 2:          Goodbye, Peter. See you soon!

(Почтальон уходит, звучит Christmas Carol “Christmas Is Coming”)

Scene 2

Narrator:      The presents are ready! It’s Christmas Eve!

                     Now it’s time for Santa to leave!

Mrs. Claus:    Letters! Letters everywhere

                     From little girls and boys!

Chief Elf:      The children ask Santa to send them

                     Lots and lots of toys!

(Распахивается дверь, появляется Санта).

Santa:           Merry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

                    It’s nearly time for me to go!

Chief Elf:      It’s nearly time, Santa Claus.

Elf 2:             To visit all the girls and boys!

Santa:            Lots and lots of lovely presents! 

Chief Elf:       They are ready, Santa!

Santa:            Oh, thanks heavens!

Elf 3:              A doll for Mary, a teddy for John.

Chief Elf:       There is a present here for everyone!

                      Happy children, everywhere!

Elf 2:             Time to go, Santa. Please take care!

Santa:            Time to fly!

Elf 1:             Everything’s ready so, goodbye!

Chief Elf:       Away you go!

Elf 3:                On your sleigh over the snow!

Santa:              And what about Rudolph?

                        Are you ready to go?

Rudolph:         One minute, Santa!

                       Let me make my nose glow!

                      We are ready to go, so hold on tight!

Santa:            Rudolph, your nose is so bright tonight!

                      Don’t worry, children! We’re on our way!

Vixen:            We’ll be there for Christmas Day!

Santa:            Christmas magic! Christmas fun!

                      Merry Christmas everyone!

Vixen:           Get ready! Get ready! It’s time to go!

                     Get ready! Get ready! We mustn’t be slow!

                     The sky is dark, the sack is full.  

                     Get ready! Get ready the sleigh to pull!

Rudolph:      Get ready! Get ready! We’re leaving tonight!
