Тип урока и его структура:

Урок совершенствования речевых навыков на основе изученных аутентичных текстов по теме урока Education in Britain

Тема: Education in Britain 

Цели урока:

• Совершенствование умений и навыков практического овладения английским языком по данной теме;
• Развитие навыков чтения и аудирования с полным и общим пониманием
• Развитие навыков критического мышления и выражения своей точки зрения
• Актуализация имеющегося опыта учащихся
• Воспитание у учащихся уважительного отношения к традициям и укладу жизни в стране изучаемого языка.

Задачи:

Образовательная:

       расширение кругозора учащихся, развитие умений, позволяющих совершенствовать учебную деятельность по овладению английским языком.

Развивающая:  

       Вовлечение учащихся в совершение основных мыслительных операций

(восприятия, осмысления, запоминания, установление смысловых связей, выявление языковых закономерностей, применения, обобщения, рефлексии).

Воспитательная: 

         Прививать интерес к культуре, традициям страны изучаемого языка, способствовать развитию умения работать в коллективе(группе).

Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, компьютер, раздаточный материал, учебник Дроздовой, Ларионовой «Английский для подготовки к экзаменам», учебник Афанасьевой , Михеевой для 8 класса школ, гимназий , лицеев с углубленным изучением английского языка.

Procedure of the lesson

1. Greeting: Glad to see you. How are you? Who is absent?

2. Warming up: The theme of our lesson is Secondary Education in Britain and Hampton      School as an example of it.  

• what associations do you have with the word “school”?
• What is your usual school day?
• What subjects do you like? Why?

3. Сhecking up Home assignment:

T.: Yesterday we discussed the stages of secondary education in Britain and you were to make up a chart of how you understand the system of education in Britain. Now you will come up to the blackboard and fix it on the board. Will you do it now?

      (pupils fix the charts with magnets)

      T.: Now I want Ann to begin: say a few words about the first stage (primary education)

2) Dima – about the 2nd stage (secondary education)

3) Who wants to speak about the 6th form, A-level exam?

4) Have you mentioned private schools? (5%) (preparatory schools – 13 years, public        schools – 13-19 years = high academic standards

T.: Well done!

4. Discussion of the text Let’s pass on to an example of British Educational system – Hampton School. You’ve got acquainted with the text and I hope you will be able to do some tasks on its contents.

4. Creative work

T: I believe you’ve noticed that the text was given in the form of an interview.

Just look at the questions that were asked about Hampton School and try to answer the same questions   but!   About your own school!

p.53- pupils answer the questions of the interviewer.

        5.    Grammar:  Adverb

T: You know adverbs are often used to make your sentences livelier or more exact.

      I want you to recollect the rules of formation of adverbs from adjectives and nouns.

6. Listening ,
