Reading.

   All of us like reading. Books play a great role in our life. Books help us in self- education and in solving many problems in life. Reading makes us more clever and wise.

To my mind, a book is one of the greatest wonders in the world. It gives us a unique chance to link up with authors who lived Hundreds or thousands years ago. Thanks to books, we can talk to people who lived in different ages and countries. Through reading books we hear their thoughts and feelings. A book gives us insight not only in the past but also in the future. A boor is faithful and undemanding friend: it can be put aside and taking up again at any moment. Books bring people pleasure and delight, and appeal to the readers’ own interests.

   There is practically no family that does not have books. Our family is  a great reader, we collect books. Still, no person can collect all books he needs for his work or wishes to read. So people borrow books from their friends or go to the library.

    There are different kinds of books: fiction, detective stories, adventure stories, fantasy stories, humorous stories, fairy tales, short stories, books of poetry, historical books, biographies, autobiographies.

     As for me, I become very keen on literature early in life. This probably happened because we had a very good and widely read library at home. Since childhood, I have been enchanted by Pushkin. Now I prefer fiction and books of poetry. My favourite writers are S. Esenin, A. Akhmatova, a. Blok, B. Pasternak, M, Bulgakov, W Shakspeare and O. Wilde. Their books stir my imagination, expand the boundaries of the familiar word. Their works fill my life with great expectations of joy and happiness.
