Music

1.Music in the lives of different people is different: some compose music other play music and some only listen to music.2. There is music everywhere: at home in a concert halls, in parks, at the seaside and even in a forest. 3. People can not live without music . 4. They learn to play musical instruments. 5. Numerous folk groups and pop music are extremely popular , especially among younger people.5. The Beatles with their exciting style of singing become the most successful pop   group in the world. 7. Music in Russia is very rich too. 8. Our celebrated singer, pianists often make concerts tours in our country and abroad and take part in International Music Concers.9. Music isn’t a combination of pleasant sounds only . 10. It is an art which  reflects life. 11. Music reflects people’s idea and emotions. 12. Music cheers us and helps to life. 13. It builds our faith and enlivens us. 14. That’s why music never  dies. 15. Many young people like folk music. 16. Paying attention to folk music  we can visit the concerts of such. 17. Some of my friends prefer classical; music. 18. They are fond of Mozart’s sonatas and symphonies. 19. It is pity but many young people like to listen only modern music. 20. I like pop songs very much because they are full energy and very melodic. 21. I like such group as ………, such singers as……. 22. By the way pop and rock music are  rather popular among the young people. 23. T want to say somewords  about jazz. 24. I  admire tradition jazz and I enjoy listening to it. 25. But sometimes I find it noisy and dreadful.

London

1.London is the capital of England.2.It is an unique city.3.London attracts and repels.4. It is an ancient city and it is truly a city of many faces with a population of about 8 million. 5. This remarkable city is situated on both sides of the THAMES .6.It is divided in two parts: THE West End and The East End.7.The third part  is the city . 8. It is a very small part of London, but the City is a historical, financial and business centre of London.9. It is the heart of trade and commerce of the country. 10. It contains the Treasure Bank, the Stock Exchange and many offices of the wealthiest companies. 11.The West End is a fashionable shopping and entertaining centre. 12. It is the richest part of London with it is palaces, impressive buildings  and monuments , wonderful parks , the best theatres and museums. 13.London has numerous fine buildings most of which have both an artistic and historical value. 14. The most magnificent is the Houses of Parliament.15. It is the seat of the British Government 16. Westminster Abbey is an  old church and it is beautiful in it is architecture and its stained glass . 17. There is a Poet’s corner in it.18. You can make the acquaintance with marvelous  Buckingham Palace . 19.You can see the changing of the guard there. 20. The Tower  of London is a famous historical building . 21. It is a very  beautiful castle. 22. London is a famous for it is wonderful parks , such as  Kensington  Garden , Hyde park, St. James Park. 23. The working class of London lives in the East End . 24 It has all the main docks and a lot of plants. 25. You can see narrow streets and numerous dirty house and many slums. 26. There is almost smoke over the East End.

                     Travelling

1)Our life is impossible without travelling.2)People use different kinds of communication to get from one place to another.3)We can travel by train and by plane or by car to any place we want.4)Travelling by air is the fastest way.5)It has many advantages.6)It is more comfortable and much quicker than any other means of transport.7) Today traveling by air is a common thing.8)People travel by air for pleasure and on business.9)But some people are afraid of travelling  by plane.10)Trains are good for them.11)They say that they have more security and can enjoy the countryside.12)They enjoy the excitement of big railway stations and the sight of trains.13)But in summer it is stuffy in the compartment.14)A favourite way of travelling for holiday makers is travelling by sea.15)People say that it is fascinating.16)They enjoy fresh air and waves and blue pure waters.17)They can watch the sunrise and sunset which is an unforgettable sight and admire the picturesque hills at the seaside.18)Hiking is for pleasure and exercise.19)You can wander narrow trails in the fields and in the woods.20)You can hear birds sing, listen to the sounds of nature and enjoy the fresh air.21)Travelling by car is sometimes enjoyable.22)But it is often rather tiring.23)Although it has some advantages.24)You don`t have to buy tickets and you can stop whenever you wish.25)That`s why travelling by car is popular for pleasure trips.

Children mesmerize for hours before TV set watching for the fifth or sixth times.

The cartoons were born in the 20th century. The animated world of puppets and pictures givers children so many moments of pleasure when they see cartoons films. Some cartoons characters are well-known and loved all over our country and children wait eagerly for their next adventures in other films. The cartoons are the greatest aesthetic and educational force in contemporary life , of course. It is a world of fairy tales and fantasy, of heroes and dragons, of   naughty little boys and clever puppies, of faithful friends and amusing adventures of lazy children and boasters. All sorts of unusual things happen in these films. Everywhere in space, in the air on land and under water brave men make journeys and discoveries. That`s why cartoons have captivated people of all nationalities and all agers, especially children, who have mesmerized for hours before TV and who have watched the cartoons for the fifth or sixth times. I think one of the prominent artist and movie-makers is Walt Disney. Disney very largely perfected it, brining it colour, feature status and completely new beauty and fantasy. He was the creator of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and other straightforward films in which the animals were the main characters and players. His “Mary Poppins” reflected the brilliant mixture of cartoon and real life and it was the greatest commercial successes. Disney`s success lay in his natural simplicity of outlook, in his ability to work in a child`s world and make it one that adults could happily enter. All his cartoons are the most marvelous ones the children have ever seen. Children are absolutely thrilled with his cartoons. Soviet cartoons are very kind and these cartoons can tap the deepest reaches of man`s or children`s spiritual life even in our very high speed time. And these cartoons` higher hedonism profoundly enters the heart and mind and every character has given the supply of love, kindness, friendship to children.
