Цель урока:

1. Обобщить знания учащихся об обычаях празднования Рождества.    Задачи:
2. Активизировать интерес к изучению предмета «Английский язык»;

1. Повторить и закрепить лексику по теме «Christmas» ;
2. Формировать речевые и письменные навыки учащихся.
3. Тип урока: урок развивающего повторения

Оборудование: проектор, экран, компьютер, раздаточный материал.

                          Ход урока

Teacher: Good morning, good morning, good morning. This cold winter morning how are you?

Look at the blackboard and try to read this poem. What is this poem about?

 Always make the children smile.

Teacher:  Today we`ll speak about Christmas , its symbols and traditions. But be very attentive, please. Today we`ll have a Quiz about Christmas. Look at these words. Can you explain them?

English and American people celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. They buy a Christmas tree; send greeting cards to their relatives and friends. At night Santa Claus comes. He puts the presents for  children in their stockings and under the tree. How do people greet each other on Christmas in England and America.

 English and American people celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. They buy a Christmas Tree, send greeting cards to their relatives and friends. At night Farther Christmas comes. He puts the presents for children in their stockings and under the tree. For most British families, this is the most important festival of the year. This is the day when many people are travelling home to be with their families on Christmas Day. If you try to catch a train on 24th December you may have difficulty in finding a seat. There are a lot of traditions connected with Christmas but the most important one is the giving of presents. Family members wrap up their gifts and leave them  under the Christmas tree to be "bound on Christmas morning.  At some time on Christmas Day the family will sit down to a big turkey dinner followed by Christmas pudding.       In the afternoon they may watch the Queen on the television as she delivers her traditional Christmas message to the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. Then they enjoy a piece of Christmas cake or eat a hot mince pie.       Most families decorate their houses with brightly-coloured paper or holly, and they usually have a Christmas tree in the corner of the room, glittering with coloured lights and decoration. 26th December is also a public holiday, called Boxing Day.       This is the time to visit friends and relatives or be a spectator at one of the many sporting events.        Everyone in Great Britain is waiting and enjoying this holiday very much!

Marry Christmas
