Сценарий интеллектуальной игры по английскому языку «Знаете ли вы англо - язычные страны?»

для учащихся 10 класса.

1.Организационный момент

Ведущий : Good morning, dear boy and girls. Now you will see a competition called ”Do You Know English-Speaking Countries?”. Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest. It is devoted to the English-speaking countries. I’m sure you’ve read a lot of books and got useful information about the countries. This competition will show your achievements and your knowledge of the matter. I wish you success.

2.Представление команд-участниц игры

 Ведущий:  Now it’s time to introduce yourselves. The name of the team is... The captain of the team is…

3.Подсчет очков

Ведущий: We have invited a competent jury to count the points. The members of the jury are… .

Dear guests! Take your places.

4.Правила игры

Ведущий: Now I am going to tell you  how to play a game. Each team gets one point for every correct answer. If the answer is wrong, you get no points. The team which gets the most points wins.

5.Ход игры

The 1st competition: “Do you know English-speaking countries?”

Ведущий: Mention English-speaking countries. Every country you name earns you one point. You are welcome!

Countries: 1.Italy  2.Canada  3. New Zealand  4.China  5.the UK     Key: Canada , New Zealand, the UK

 The 2nd  competition: “Flags and capitals”

Ведущий: The next competition is called « Flags and capitals ». The 1st team must match flags with the names of the countries and 2nd team must put the names of capitals. Here are two envelopes with cards. Captains! Will you choose your envelope, please!

Countries: 1. the UK       2. The USA   3. Australia   4. New Zealand    5. Canada  

Capitals: 1. Wellington   2. Canberra     3. Ottawa  4. London   5. Washington D.C.

The 3rd  competition: “Riddle countries” 

Ведущий:

Guess the names of these countries. Listen to the speaker and be very attentive! The winner will be the team that gives the right answer and does it quicker than the other team.

1. This is one of the largest countries of the world. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the East and by the Pacific Ocean in the West. What is it? (The USA)
2. This country has a very high living standard. People speak many languages there. The main symbol on the flag is a maple leaf. What is it? (Canada)
3. It is a country which looks like an island. It’s not very big, but it’s very beautiful. It’s the country of fog and rain. There are a lot of places of interest. (Great Britain)   
4. This country occupies a whole continent. It has strange animals and plants. It’s very far from our country. (Australia)

The 4th  competition: “The ABC game” 

Ведущий:Now you’ll get some letters from the English alphabet. You must put these letters in the right order, so as to get the name of the country. The winner will be the team that finishes this kind of work  earlier.

The 5th  competition: “Parts and wholes” 

Ведущий: Combine these parts so as to get a name.
