4. Prove that:
1) Lady Windemere was a charming woman.
2) Lady Windemere believed in cheiromancy.
3) Mr. Podgers didn’t look like a real cheiromantist.
4) Mr. Podgers was a successful cheiromantist.
5) Lord Arthur loved Sybil.
6) Mr. Podgers was frightened when he saw Lord Arthur’s hand.
7) Some people wanted to have their hands read but the others didn’t.

Chapter 2.

3. Choose the right sentences about the characters of the story and correct the false ones.

2) Lord Arthur was a born criminal and any murder was nothing to him.
3) He decided to kill his relative feeling no regret.
4) Lord Arthur decided to poison Lady Clem because he was expert on toxicology.
