I. GREETING

  • Hello, children! I’m very glad to see you. Sit down, please. I’ll be your teacher. At first, let me introduce myself. My name is Elmira Alfisovna.

II. SPEECH DRILL

  • What is your name? (My name is. . .)
  • How are you? (I’m fine, thank you.)
  • Do you like the weather today?
  • What is the date today? (Today is the twenty sixth of January).
  • Yes, you are quite right. Today is the twenty sixth of January.
  • Now repeat all together. (Today is the twenty sixth  of January.)

III. PHONETIC DRILL

  • Children do you remember all English sounds? Let’s check it up. Look at the card, please. Who can name the sound? (учитель показывает детям транскрипционные значки и просит назвать звуки, изображённые на карточках, и слова.)

      [s] – sportsman, possible, famous, stupid.

      [v] – very, clever, never, creative, loving.

      [p] – polite, stupid, typical, pleasant.

      [əu] – so, know, go, close.

      [n] – naughty, independent, unfriendly, non-athletic.

      [r] – rude, brave, friendly, responsible.

      [m] – main, impolite, humour, impossible.  

      [z] – unzip, pleasant, close.

  • In which group of  words do you see this sound?
  • Thank you. Well done.
  • And now let’s  play and remember the English adjectives. You shall name the words and translate it one by one. The pupil, who will name the last word will be the winner. (Учитель организует игру «Кто чемпион?». Учащиеся по очереди называют изученные ранее прилагательные. Ученик, назвавший последнее слово, становиться победителем.)

IV. DEVELOPING ORTHOGRAPHICAL SKILLS

  • We have remembered the words to describe people and their character. Can you write them? Let’s check..
  • Look at the board. Here you see the words. Your task is to fill in the missing letters and translate it.

 (Ученики по очереди выходят к доске и вписывают пропущенные буквы, произносят слово вслух хором)

  • And now read these words in chain.

V. DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKIILS

  • I see you have learnt a lot of English words to describe people. And now tell me, please, what kind of people you like and don’t like and explain why. ( I like kind people. They are always ready to share their things with other people. I don’t like cruel people because they are not kind. They are rude.)

VII. DEVELOPING SKILLS IN DIALOGICAL SPEECH

  • And now open your books on page  45 and find ex. 13.
  • Read and translate the task, please.
  • We’ll work in group. You will ask the members of your group what kind of people they like or don’t like and fill the table. Then you’ll answer my questions. Begin working. I’ll give you 5 minute.
  • Are you ready? Very good. Answer my questions.
  1. Who likes kind people in your group? (Mary does.)
  2. What kind of people does Sveta like? (She likes polite and responsible people.)
  3. Does Kate like creative people? (Yes, she does.)
  4. What kind of people doesn’t Nick like? (He doesn’t like noisy people. )
  • Perfect, thank you!

VIII. LEARNING THE POEM

  • Today we’ll learn a new poem. But before look at the board and repeat after me.

  •  Read in chain, please. Good job!
  • And now open your books on page 46 ex. 15 Read and translate the task..
  • Listen to the poem and try to understand it.
  • Do you like the poem? What is it about? (It’s about people from different countries, about friendship and peace.)
  •  Let’s read the poem after the speaker.
  • And now work in pairs. Read the poem to each other.

IX. HOMEWORK

  • And now write down your homework. Ex.14, on page 45; and ex.15, on page 46 (подготовить на хорошее чтение)

  • The lesson is over you may go and have a rest.
