Методическая разработка урока в 8 –А классе по теме:

«Защита окружающей среды» на основе УМК М.З. Бибалетовой «Enjoy English-5».

Этот урок является итоговым уроком во втором разделе учебника «Ты - лучший друг планеты». Методическое значение предлагаемой работы заключается в обобщении и систематизации знаний по изученной теме, активизации лексики, грамматических структур в страдательном залоге, условных предложениях с целью развития коммуникативной  компетенции учащихся на средней  ступени обучения с использованием ИКТ на уроках английского языка в общеобразовательной школе.

Цели  урока:

Развивающая: развитие способности к осмысленности восприятия и к распределению внимания, формулированию выводов из прочитанного и услышанного к умению отстаивать свою точку зрения.

Обучающая: формирование навыков и умений всех видов речевой деятельности, развитие лексико-грамматических навыков устной речи.

Воспитательная: воспитание гражданственности и чувства ответственности за сопричастность к проблемам экологии и окружающей среды.

Оснащение: плакат «Our Planet is in danger», слова на доске, тест по аудированию текста,      презентации, компьютер, интерактивная доска.

Ход урока:

Организационный момент: T: Good morning, children! I am glad to see you! I hope you are OK. We’re going to discuss some urgent problems today – problems of ecology and environment. Today we’ll try to raise the problems of pollution in its many forms: air pollution, water pollution, pollution of soil. We’ll speak about destruction of wildlife and countryside beauty and shortage of natural resources, about noise from different vehicles. During the lesson I want you to think about the problem “Nobody will help us and our planet, if we don’t help ourselves.” Let’s start our lesson. We shall work with a poem, check up your homework, listen to the unknown text and do the test, watch the projects of your classmates, discuss some ecological problems and even sing song «Mother forest».

Речевая зарядка: Now remember how beautiful our nature is … and answer the questions, please!

1. Do you like nature?

2. Is it dangerous to run under the acid rain?  

3. Have you ever walked barefoot on the young green grass in summer?

4. Each of you prefers to breathe in fresh air, don’t you?

5. Do you like to watch clouds? What do they remind you of?

6. Do you like to listen to the sea noise of surf in the evening silence?

7. Do you like to watch sparkling stars in the sky at night?

8. Do you like to walk in the forest or in the field?

T: Look at the screen! You can see picturesque scenery of our nature, birds, and flowers. Well, our land is full of beautiful flowers, plants and trees which grow and blossom in the meadows, on the bank of the rivers and lakes, in the forests and gardens. But many flowers and insects have become rare and vanish, because of excessive radiation and transport, the man’s interference in nature. The intensive development of sciences, industry and chemistry has made the pollution of our environment a global problem which should be solved by all means. Well, this problem is widely spread by TV, radio and the press. The pictures are beautiful, aren’t they? The motto of our lesson is the words of a famous English poet Francis Thompson: “One couldn’t pluck a flower without troubling a star”. Think of the meaning of these words. Look at the screen again! Read the poem and try to understand it.  As you see the words “Change to green” are often used. What do they mean? Why must technology bring apology to ecology? T: How do you understand “to live in harmony with environment”?

P1:  I think it is clean rivers, blue sky, and green grass.

P2: Clean air and water, shining sun, fresh fruit from the trees, green trees and bushes, flowers and insects, fish and birds.

T: But with the development of the civilization, man’s interference in nature began to increase and now our planet is in danger. What problems do we face?

P3:

– Air pollution

– Water pollution

– Global warming

– Trash

– Cruelty to animals        

P4:

– Nuclear pollution

– Destruction of ozone layer

– Poisons in food

– Wars

– Deforestation etc.                                                                  

Контроль домашнего задания:

T: You were to read the text (Ex.12, p.43) and give a title to the text. Look at the text again and find any word whose meaning is not clear. Try to guess its meaning in the following way:

Reread the context in which the word is used (the sentence in which it is plus the sentence before and after it).

Write down three meanings that you think are possible.

Talk with your partner and try to agree with your partner on the meaning of some words you have found.

 Use the textbook’s vocabulary to check your guesses. Well done!

Next task: find in the text the phrases that have similar meaning to the following:

amazing,

people,

die out,

nature around us,

make,

vital problem,

forecast,

frightening,

unhealthy food,

rubbish,

every,

damage,

gases.

 T: Look through the text again and find the sentences with the passive voice. Read them aloud and translate into Russian.

Аудирование  текста: «Environmental protection». T: Look at the blackboard! There are some unknown words from the text. Let’s pronounce them. Listen to the text! Try to understand it and do the test. The lists with the tests are on your desks.

Показ компьютерных презентаций, подготовленных учащимися: There are a lot of different ecological organizations in the world which struggle for preservation of nature. Some of your classmates made projects about them. Let’s watch these projects. Thank you!

Обсуждение проблемных вопросов, связанных с экологической ситуацией (работа в группах). T: Let’s discuss ecological problems in groups. What ecological problems are there in the world? What measures must be taken to protect our nature? Do people worry about these problems? Of course they do, because it’s international problem.

P1: Many people are worried about these problems and they are trying to do something for solving them. There are many organizations which do much to preserve the environment. What international organizations do you know?

P2: “Greenpeace” is an international organization of people which tries to find ways of keeping clean air and water takes care of animals and birds.

P3: People are worried about keeping of nature, organize demonstrations, and write letters to the government.

Творческая работа: «Пером водим- переводим». (Ребятам заранее было дано стихотворение на английском языке. Ученики должны были составить свой собственный перевод, используя стихотворную  рифму. Зачитываются самые удачные переводы).

P3: We should make cars and plants run cleaner.

P4: We should put filters on the chimneys of factories and plants.

P5: We should recycle used materials.

P6: We should clear trash from lakes and rivers.

P7: We should plant more trees and feed birds in winter.

P8: We should stop nuclear tests.

P9: We should protect crops without pesticides.

P10: We should save energy.

P11: We should do all possible to keep our planet clean.

P12: We should start planting flowers. Trees and bushes in our yards.

Домашнее задание: Make up a dialogue on the topic “What can I personally do to keep our planet for the future generations?”
