         Урок-конкурс “ Путешествие по Великобритании”

                  в 7 классе.

Урок проводился во время проведения недели английского языка в

прошлом году. Класс делится на три группы .Каждая группа полу-

чает задание,какую часть Великобритании она будет представлять.

Это решает жребий.

Цель урока :закрепление и расширение знаний учащихся по

                    страноведению Великобритании.

 Оборудование : компьютер,проектор,экран.

Порядок выступления группы решает жеребьевка.

Жюри состоит из 5 учеников 11-го класса.

Привожу выступление группы,которая представляла Англию.

Состав:8 человек.Название команды-“Yellow Submarine”.

Pupil 1:Ladies and Gentlemen!

            Welcome to travel agency “Yellow Submarine”!

             Today we will tell you about a new route across England.                                                                                                   

             This route is for clever, intelligent, inquisitive people.

Pupil 2:We’ll start our journey from Pulkovo Airport. In less than 2

            hours we’ll be in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.

            From here we’ll take a bus to the county of Cumbria in the

            north-west of England.

Pupil 3:Here you will find yourselves in one of the most beautiful

             places of England-Lake District or the Lake Country.

             There are 16 beautiful lakes which give the place its name.

             The largest are Windermere and Ullswater.

             Windermere is the largest lake in theUK.It is 17 kms long

             and 16 kms wide. The hills and mountains are not high but

             very beautiful.

Pupil 4:You can enjoy the beauty of the scenery,go fishing and boating,

             hunt and climb the mountains.

             But most people come here to see the places where three famous

             English poets:Wordsworth,Coleridge and Southey lived and

             worked.

             They are called “the Lake Poets”.

              We can better understand their poetry in these places.

              One of the most famous poems of Wordsworth is “The Daffodils”

                       “I wandered lonely as a cloud

                         That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

                         When all at once

                          I saw a crowd,

                          A host of golden daffodils,

                          Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

                          Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

                          Continuous as the stars that shine

                          And twinkle on the Milky Way

                           They stretched in never-ending line

                           Along the margin of a bay;

                           Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

                            Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

                            The waves beside them danced,but they

                             Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:

                             A poet could not but be gay

                              In such a jocund company.

                              I gazed- and gazed-but little thought

                              What wealth the show to me had brought.

                              For oft,when on my couch

                              I lie in vacant or in pensive mood,

                              They flash upon that inward eye

                              Which is the bliss of solitude,

                              And then my heart with pleasure fills

                              And dances with the daffodils.

 Pupil 1: We’ll stay here for 4 days and then go to Liverpool.

               In the Beatles Story Museum you can see and hear a lot of

               interesting things. Our favourite song is “Yellow Submarine”.

               ( Исполняется песня.)

Pupil 2: But there are other interesting places in Liverpool:the famous

              Walker Art Gallery and the Philarmonic Hall,one of the best

              inEurope.

              The city is famous for its sport ,too.

              Everybody knows the two football teams:”Liverpool”and

              “Evertone”.

              We’ll stay here for 3 days and go on traveling to the south

              by bus.

Pupil 3:We are going to Shakespeare’s Land- Stratford-upon-Avon.

             Here the greatest dramatist,William Shakespeare,was born

             on the 23rd of April,1564.

             The house in Henley Street where Shakespeare was born is now

              a museum.

Pupil 4: When William was about 21,he went to London.There he became

              an actor and began to write plays for his company. Soon he was

               a well-known author.

               In 1610 he returned to Stratford and spent the last years of his

                life here.

               He died in 1616 and was buried in the Holy Trinity Church.

  Pupil 5:Now we can see the building of Royal Shakespeare Theatre,

               which was built in 1879.They perform all Shakespeare’s

               plays here.

               In Stratford you can see houses built in the 16th century and

               modern buildings. For example,the National Teddy Bear

               Museum,opened in 1988.

 Pupil 6:After a day’s stay in Stratford we continue our journey to the

               south of England.

                We will spend 5 days in Brighton,one of the most famous

               English resorts.

                Here you will find sunny beaches,comfortable hotels,

                picturesque scenery.            

                Brighton is famous for its theatres,cafes,bars and restaurants.

                 You can have a good rest here.

 Pupil 7:And then we will go to London by bus and spend there only

              one day.For those who haven’t been in this great city we will

              organize a bus tour around the city.

              In the evening we will fly back to St.Petersburg.

Pupil 1:We hope that you will enjoy your trip to England!
