Ход урока:

1.     Организационный этап. (1-2 мин)

Good morning students. Glad to see you. How are you?

2.     Введение в атмосферу иноязычного общения.(2 мин)

I would like to ask you some questions? But first listen to a short poem and then answer the questions.

                                    Have you read about countries?

                                    Have you heard about cities?

                                    Have you learned about climate, geographical position?

                                    Countries, capitals and cities,

                                    Lots of people have traditions, nationalities and customs,  

                                    Flags and languages and others…

                                    But they have one common point. They are English-speaking countries.

                                    Could you name these English-speaking countries?

3. Мотивация учебной деятельности учащихся.(3 мин)

What English-speaking countries do you know? Are you sure that you name all countries and pronounce correctly.

You are right. You don’t know all English-speaking countries and don’t know how to pronounce correctly.

Do you need this information? Is it important and necessary information?

What should you do to improve your knowledge about English-speaking countries?

  • We should learn the names of English-speaking countries?
  • We should learn how to pronounce correctly.

4. Целепологание и построение  проекта выхода из затруднения.(3мин)

Yes, you are correct. What do you think about the theme of our lesson today?  What is the aim of our lesson?

  • I think the theme of today’s lesson is “English-speaking countries”.
  • In my opinion the aim of today’s lesson is to learn the names of English-speaking countries.
  • I think the aim of today’s lesson is how to pronounce correctly.
  • We also will learn capitals, may be climate, geographical positions and other information.

You are right! Today we will talk about the names of different countries, their capitals, flags and geographical position.

Tell me please what you should do first, then and finally?  Tell me the strategy of the lesson?

- First we should learn how to pronounce, then we should practice and finally we need to check our knowledge.

5. Открытие нового знания (5 мин)

Now we will listen the names of English-speaking countries and then we will translate and repeat them.

Open your books on page 35 Ex 4

  1. Listen the pronunciation attentively, don’t repeat.
  2. OK. Now I will read you will translate.
  3. Now you listen again and repeat after the speaker.

6. Первичное закрепление.

Ok. Work in pairs. Read to each other. Correct mistakes.

7. Самостоятельная работа с самопроверкой по эталону.

Well. Let’s practice new information. You can work in groups or in pairs. Take test number one. You have the maps on your tables, a geographical map on the blackboard and some additional material on page 134.  

I want you to check yourselves and correct your mistakes if you have.

Please, watch the movie «The countries of the world song»  attentively and correct your mistakes if you have.

8.Включение в систему знаний и повторение.

Yes, you do. Let’s revise using the definite article with geographical names. Find Ex  5   on page35

Now, we`ve revised some grammar material. Let`s listen to the dialogues which help us use all necessary information in our own conversations correctly.

Ex. 1 on p. 35. Listen to two dialogues and guess what countries the participants of the International Competition are from. Name only the countries.

1 dialogue (Britain/ the Russian Federation)

2 dialogue (Canada/ the United States)

9. Выполнение задач реконструктивно-вариативного типа. Самостоятельная работа.

Now, you work in pairs.  Use Ex. 1, p. 34. as models. You have the cards with the task. You should make your own dialogues according to your roles. I give you 1-2 minutes.

Let`s check up your dialogues.

10. Контроль усвоения, обсуждение допущенных ошибок и их коррекция.

You have the control cards which can help you to characterize your classmates’ dialogues and give your marks. Listen very attentively and write down any mistakes if they have.

Can you characterize the dialogues of your classmates? Whose dialogue do you like more? Give the marks to your classmates.

11.Рефлексия.

And as always, characterize your lesson, please.
