Цель внеклассного мероприятия: обобщить знания учащихся о традициях проведения праздников в России; познакомить учащихся с некоторыми национальными праздниками в Великобритании; совершенствовать навыки устной и письменной речи учащихся.

Связь с учебным материалом предмета  «Английский язык» (курс страноведения) и межпредметные связи с уроками окружающего мира (традиции и праздники в России).

Оснащение внеклассного мероприятия: раздаточный материал «Hurray! Hurray! We are on our holiday!», карточки со словами (Work hard; stay at home; go to school; decorate houses and streets; cook tasty dinner; visit friends, relatives, parents; repair bikes; sing and dance; play games together), раздаточный материал «Mother is busy», Синквейн «Holiday», мяч, видеозаписи «We wish you…», «Trick or Treat».

Ход (сценарий) мероприятия

- Good afternoon, children!

- I’m glad to see you!

- How are you?

-Fine! Thank you!

-Let’s play the game «Snowball». Everyone need to say names  of  the previous persons and your name.

-My name is Anastasia Alekseevna.

-Let’s look at the sheet of paper! There are some lines on it. Let’s read them together!

Hurray! Hurray! We are on our holiday!

Fantastic life, no work, all play

On our holiday!

There is lots to do and friends who say:

«Forget your books, that is quite Ok

On our holiday!»

-What is this poem about?

-That is right. It is a holiday. What are we going to speak about today?

-We will speak about holidays!

-Who can give us the definition of the word «holiday»? What does it mean?

-I have the cards with the words (Work hard; stay at home; go to school; decorate houses and streets; cook tasty dinner; visit friends, relatives, parents; repair bikes; sing and dance; play games together). Choose the right words. Come to the blackboard. Fix the card.

-What holidays will we speak about? Look at the screen, please. You can see some holidays. Try to guess, about what holidays and countries we will tell today.

-First let’s remember everything you know about holidays in Russia. And so, what is the first holiday of the year in our country?

- It is Christmas. You know this holiday.

-We celebrate it in Russia. When do we do it?

-But in Great Britain Christmas Day is celebrated on the 25th of December. People of different countries celebrate it in various ways. The traditional food is turkey, Christmas cake and pudding made of fruit. Christmas tree stands in everybody’s living room at Christmas.

-Now I will tell you about a very interesting and magic holiday, which British

people celebrate on the 31th of October. It is Halloween. Halloween is one of the

best holiday for children. They dress as witches, black cats, ghosts, wizards, knock

on their neighbors doors and yell «trick or treat». The neighbors give each child a

candy. The symbol of this holiday is a head made of pumpkin.

-Mother is kindness and beauty. Mother is very important for every child. Mother loves, helps and supports you. This holiday is celebrated all over the world and in Great Britain too on the 6th of March. Children give their mums flowers and presents on that day.
