Викторина по страноведению

Тема занятия: Do you know Great Britain?

Цели викторины:

1. повторение изученного страноведческого материала в неформальной обстановке;
2. повышение интереса к изучению иностранного языка.

Задачи:

учебный аспект: закрепление знаний учащихся достопримечательностей Великобритании, культуры, традиций и обычаев страны изучаемого языка;

развивающий аспект: развитие способности к языковой догадке, коммуникабельности, умений осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия, развитие умения анализировать текст, отбирать нужную информацию;

воспитательный аспект: формирование адекватного восприятия и отношения к образу жизни и нормам поведения в стране изучаемого языка, воспитание самостоятельности.

социокультурный аспект: контроль знаний учащихся географических и политических особенностей Великобритании, достопримечательностей Лондона, культуры, традиций и обычаев страны изучаемого языка.

ХОД ЗАНЯТИЯ

I. Организационный момент. Вступительное слово учителя. Постановка целей и задач занятия.

T: Good morning, dear students and guests! Today we are going to have quiz “Do you know Great Britain?” I’m sure you’ve got much information about this wonderful country at your English lessons.

II. Выбор участников. Участники располагают слова в алфавитном порядке.

T: First of all, let’s choose the participants of our competition. Do the following task. Put the words in the correct alphabetical order. Who is quicker?

1) Potato        dollar         English         London         book

T: Our first participant … take the orange track. Who is next?

2) Cat                Russian        pen                autumn         door

T: Our second participant… take the blue track. Who is next?

3) Dog                Elista                clock                 black         fish

T: Our third participant… take the yellow track. Who is next?

4) Orange                 mark                dog                  chair                train

T: Our fourth participant……. take the beige track.

T: And now you will have a good opportunity to show your knowledge of the matter by taking part in our competition. I wish you success. Be attentive. It’s high time to begin.

T: And now dear students, let’s start our Britain Quiz. The Britain Quiz has 30 questions. There are four answers to each question but only one of them is correct. You should raise the card with the number of the correct answer. Good luck to you! First round.

IV. Игра со зрителями «Достопримечательности Лондона».

And now let’s have a game with the spectators.

A) Look at the screen and guess what it is. (Студенты отгадывают достопримечательности Лондона. После того как они отгадали, появляется краткая информация о данном изображении.)

Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square was built in 1830 and is used to be home to thousands of pigeons. There is the statue of Admiral Lord Nelson there.

The Houses of Parliament with Big Ben

The Houses of Parliament was built in 1840. It is the seat of the British government. The Houses of Parliament contain the bell Big Ben. Big Ben is the biggest and the most famous clock in Britain.

Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge, named after its two impressive towers, is one of London's best known landmarks. This Victorian Bridge is now more than 100 years old.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace was built in 1702 by the Duke of Buckingham as his London home. Now it is the London home of the Queen.

The Tower of London

For a long time the Tower of London was a fortress, a prison and a royal palace. Now it is a museum.

The British Museum

The British Museum was founded in 1753. Now it is the national museum of antiquities.

National Gallery

National Gallery, one of the principal art galleries in Britain, is located in Trafalgar Square. The gallery was built in 1834.

VI. Финал. Учащиеся  должны за одну минуту составить как можно больше слов из предложенного преподавателем слова. Победитель тот, у кого получилось наибольшее количество слов.

Т: Now it’s high time to organize a competition between two finalists. Dear friends! You get a card with a long word. You have to make other words from the letters it contains. The letters can be used in any order. I give you five minutes. The winner is the participant who finds the largest number of words.

(In the card: Personality. The answer: person, son, noisy, tea, reason, net, rest, pen, tiny, etc.)

T: The winner of our quiz is ... Our congratulations! (Победителю вручается диплом.)

T: And now let’s sing the song together. (Звучит песня и все поют вместе)

VII. Подведение итогов. Преподаватель благодарит всех участников за хорошие и отличные знания по данной теме и активное участие в викторине.
