Plan of the lesson in the 5th form

«Let’s go to the theatre»

 (план урока по английскому языку в 5 классе на тему «Давай сходим в театр»)

Monday, the 9th of April

1. Hello, pupils! I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. How are you? (I’m fine, thanks. And you? – спрашиваю 3-4 человека).  Firstly, you will see an extract from a play. Then you will try to name this play. Finally, you’ll have to work out the theme of the lesson (все герои подписаны). Let’s invite our actors to the stage (дети выходят к доске и показывают сценку).

 Storyteller: Once upon a time there lived an old man. One spring he sowed a turnip seed.

Grandpa: Grow, little turnip, grow big and sweet.

The sun: Grow up, little turnip, grow up! It’s warm!

The rain: Drink, little turnip, drink and grow!

Storyteller: Look, there’re green leaves on the turnip. Soon the turnip will grow.

Grandpa: Oh, how big my turnip is, how big! I must pull it out! (тянет дед репку, а вытянуть не может, зовёт на помощь бабку) Oh, dear! It’s so big! So big! I can’t pull it out! Grandmother, come here and help me!

Thank you very much. Children, be so kind, name this play. And now, can you guess the theme of our lesson? (дети отвечают) – «Let’s go to the theatre» (тема урока появляется на экране – слайд №1). Let’s go on…

2. Now, pupils, I’d like you to read the goals of the lesson (с двух сторон на доске написаны цели урока). What are we going to do? – We’re going to...

- revise the words

- listen to the CD

- speak

- use the phrase «I’m scared of…» in the dialogue

2. Let’s imagine that we’re at the theatre, take your tickets, please, and answer my questions: What row is yours? – My row is number five. What seat is yours? – My seat is number ten. What’s the price for the ticket? – It’s five pounds. What’s the day of the play? – It’s Saturday. What’s the date of the play? – It’s the seventh of April (ученики отвечают на вопросы учителя).

3. And now, my dear theatre lovers, let’s revise the words. You will see some pictures on the screen and guess the words (на экране появляются картинки со словами: theatre, ticket, row, seat, play, ticket office, a queue, a stage, a character – слайды 2-10). The next task is to match the words and the pictures (ученики читают слово и называют номер соответствующей картинки – слайды 11-19).

4. Thank you very much, let’s act out the dialogue. Open your books at page 93 and find the dialogue. Marina and Polina will speak about going to the theatre. You’ll listen to them attentively, then you are to complete the gaps using the information from the ticket which you can see in your books (слушаем одну пару, затем проверяем правильность ответов на экране – слайд 20). Let’s check your answers on the screen.

5. Now, let’s have a rest! Do you like camping? – Yes, I do/No, I don’t. Children, open your books, please, page 95. You’ll hear the play called «Deep in the forest» and then you will put the pictures in order (на доске висят пять картинок, один из учеников расставляет их по порядку, затем проверяем правильность ответов на экране – слайд 21).

6. Answer my question, please: Are you scared of the dark? – Yes, I am/No, I’m not. Now you will ask your friends if they are scared of something. You can see some useful advice on the board, use them to calm down your partner. (ученики выходят к доске и видят на экране медведя, затем паука, затем таракана, они задают вопросы своим партнёрам и дают им полезные советы – слайды 22-25). Name the first advice, the second, the third and the fourth (советы появляются на экране в правильном порядке). Check your answers, please.

7. At the end of our lesson I’d like to listen to the poem by Jane Yolen «Grandpa Bear’s lullaby» (спрашиваю одного ученика – слайд 26). Look at the screen, here you can see some information about this writer (я читаю информацию об авторе и задаю детям вопросы). When was Jane Yolen born? Where was she born? And now, let’s listen to Marina (Марина читает стих).  Answer my question, please. –  Is Marina a good actor? – Yes, she is.

8. And now, tell me, please, what did we do during our lesson? (один ученик отвечает, глядя на цели урока). – We revised the words, practised in listening, in speaking and in using the phrase «I’m scared of…» I want to see if you liked our lesson, show me your cards, please. Now I will give you the marks (ставлю оценки).

9. We have some time till the end of the lesson, let’s do the crossword.
