Gold, how many myths, tales and legends are associated with this metal! There is a legend that once upon a time the Gods sent a golden rain to the Earth. The drops fell to the ground and went deeply through it. That's how gold appeared.

The role of gold in the development of human civilization is very important. The word gold in translation from the language of the ancient Incas means sunny, yellow. And the sun is a source of energy, heat and light for wildlife. Gold as a symbol of the sun has always been identified with wealth, power and might.

For a long time, gold has always attracted the attention of people, both good and evil, greedy, capable of crimes, theft and even murder. In the past, gold, namely gold sand, gold coins, served as a measure of payments in trade.

But even in the modern world, the value of gold has not lost its significance. It is a metal that has played an important role in the development of the economy and culture in the history of mankind. It is also a high-tech material for the development of electronics, medicine, chemical and jewelry industries.

But most of all, gold is an important element of countries' reserves, showing their stability and reliability.

More than 166 thousand tons of gold have been mined in the whole history of mankind. Today, there are 90 thousand tons of gold in the world. More than half of it is kept on Knox Island (USA) in underground warehouses.

 The gold reserves of all countries today are more than 30 thousand tons. Most of the gold is mined in Сhina, Australia and Russia. And there is a significant share of our Aldan gold; over the years, Aldan has mined hundreds of tons of precious metal.

Some countries that do not have their own mining sites have to buy it on the gold markets. The reserves of gold  are very limited. Interestingly, if you combine all the gold together, you will get a cube with only a length of 12 m. This explains its high cost,

But now, gold is not a payment measure The volume of the gold reserve reflects the financial position and is an indicator of the country's power. And today it is considered as ordinary goods that are bought and sold in special markets – gold markets, both international, domestic and shadow.
