1. Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson. How are you? Great! Today we’ve got an unusual lesson, because there a lot of guests in the class. I hope you’ll have a great time. Be active, be attentive and be helpful.

What day is it today, Nikita?

Gleb, Do you like playing phone games?

Do you like playing board games or computer games?

What game is your favorite?

Boys and girls, what do you think what’s the topic of our lesson? Good! It’s playing games.

According to this topic guess What are we going to do during the lesson?

PLAN: We’ll revise the words of games than we’ll read a dialogue. And finally we’ll act our own dialogues.

So let’s start!

Today we are going to play one exciting game. Let’s guess, what game is it. You can see a riddle which consists of two words. Look at it and say the game.

      u=i                           t=z

Picture backgroundSAW               Picture background      ZLE

Great! It’s a jigsaw puzzle. So let’s play this game.

I want to tell you about the rules of this game.

Firstly I want to say that I surveyed your group last Monday. I asked all of you one question.

“What kind of game do you like best of all?” You’ll know the answer in the end of the lesson after doing some tasks.

You can see 6 pieces of the picture on the board. But you’ve got only 4 tasks. After doing each task correctly you may open only one part of this puzzle in order. Do you understand the rules of the game?

1) So let’s start. Firstly let’s revise the words. Look at the screen. Here are some words and some pictures. You should match all of them. You’ll come to the board one by one and find the pair. Gleb, start please.

https://wordwall.net/ru/resource/84924544/%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%8F-spotlight-6-unit-6b-games

Good job! You’ve done this task! Now we may open the first part of the puzzle.

2)  And now after revising the games we may read the dialogue. Open your books at page 58. Find task №3. You can see a dialogue in your books. Let’s listen to it and answer the question “What game did Jim and Tom decided to play in the end?” Is the question clear?

3) Now let’s read this dialogue. Good job. You have done this task perfectly so you may open the second part of the puzzle.

4) You can see sheets of paper with the beginnings of some sentences. You should find the endings. You’ve got 5 min for preparing. Then we’ll check all of them.

1. I am listening to ….

2. Do you want to play …

3. I bet…

4. You suggest …

5. It’s not about …

Now let’s exchange your sheets of paper and check the answers of your partner. If the sentence is correct you’ll write +. If it is wrong you should write -.  Let’s read the answers.

So if your partner has 5 correct answers put an excellent mark in this sheet of paper, if 4 – a good mark and etc. Tell me please, who has got a very good mark? A good mark? A satisfactory? A poor? A very poor? You’ve done this task brilliant so you may open the third part of the puzzle.

4. I can see that your eyes are very tired. You’ve read a lot. So I offer you to have a rest. Would you like to have a rest? And now repeat after me all the actions. Are you ready?

Look left, right
Look up, look down
Look around.
Look at your nose
Look at that rose
Close your eyes
Open, wink and smile.
Your eyes are happy now. Once again!

4) Now let’s continue. You are divided into pairs.

You’ve got a model of a dialogue on these sheets of paper.

So you should make you own dialogues as in the example by choosing one word in each sentence. Do you understand the task? I give you 2 min for preparing. Who will start?

-Do you want to play something with me?

-Like what? And don’t say chess / jigsaw puzzle / dominoes / monopoly.

-Yes, I think it’s boring / terrible / dull / awful.

-How about darts / billiards / marbles?

-I am very keen on it. I think it’s fun / exciting / brilliant / interesting.

-That’s great. Let’s play it!

You have done this task perfect so you may open the forth part of the puzzle.

5. Great job! And now look at these pieces of the puzzle and guess “What game is your favorite?” Yes, it’s DARTS.

You’ve got 5 votes for darts / 3 votes for billiards / 4 votes for dominoes  / 2 votes for puzzle / and 1 vote for marbles and chess.

6. In conclusion, I want you to answer some questions. You’ll answer only (Yes or No). You can see a QR code on the screen.  Take your phones, scan the QR-code and answer the questions. You’ve got some sheets of paper on your desks. They will help you to answer these questions. You’ve got 1 min.

We have revised all games, read and acted the dialogues so the plan of our lesson is done. Do you like our lesson? The lesson is over. Have a nice day. You may go.
