1. Healthy lifestyle.

Hello, I’d like to tell you about a healthy lifestyle.

To begin with, sport is one of the most popular pastimes all over the world. It plays a big role in our life. Nowadays a lot of teenagers are fond of doing sports because they want to stay healthy. Sport is a good mean of struggling with stress.

There are other means of keeping fit and healthy, for example healthy eating and keeping regular hours.

You can find any diet you need in the net. But you should consult to the specialist before you start if it will be good for you or not.

As for me I enjoy playing sports games such as football, basketball, volleyball, tennis etc. I also like running at our stadium in the evening.

To sum up I would like to say that going in for sport gives a lot of advantages. It gives you physical exercise, you spend a lot of time in the open air, you meet people who enjoy the same sport.

2. Keeping fit.

Now I am going to give a talk about keeping fit.

In my opinion a healthy lifestyle is more popular nowadays than some years before. Many people have to work hard at offices sitting at the computers all days long. It’s rather harm for their health. So people try to find time for doing sport, walking, gardening and spending weekends outside. There are lots of sports clubs and gyms where people can train to keep fit.

As for me I try to do morning exercises every day to keep fit. I also walk with my friends and swim in the swimming pool not far from my house. Sometimes I jog in the nearest park. At weekends I usually visit my grandparents who live in the country. There is a big farm where I help my grandpa. Fresh air and activities make me feel much better than in town.

There are lots of sports activities popular with teenagers in our region. Boys prefer playing football and wrestling. As for girls they are fond of dancing and running. Both girls and boys from our school take part in different competitions.

In the end I’d like to say that a healthy lifestyle is the best choice for young people.

3. Sports.

Hello, I’d like to tell you about sports.

To begin with, sport is one of the most popular pastimes all over the world. It plays a big role in our life. Nowadays a lot of teenagers are fond of doing sports because they want to stay healthy. Sport is a good mean of struggling with stress.

We have fine teams at our school and different kinds of competitions take place there. The boys of my school are crazy about football, they play football and the girls are football fans. In winter our physical training lessons are held indoors, in our school gymnasium. We play different team-games such as basket-ball or volley-ball. Besides we have some training in gymnastics. In autumn and in spring, when the weather is warm we have P.T. lessons at our school stadium.

As for me I enjoy playing sports games such as football, basketball, volleyball, tennis etc. I also like running at our stadium in the evening.

To sum up I would like to say that going in for sport gives a lot of advantages. It gives you physical exercise, you spend a lot of time in the open air, you meet people who enjoy the same sport.

2. My school.

No doubt that school is our second home. We spend a lot of time at school acquiring deep knowledge, which can help us to understand our life better. It plays an important role in our life.

What I like most about my school is that here is an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, so I go to school with pleasure. It mostly depends on our teachers who are the fairest, kindest, cleverest and most sociable people.

But there is only one thing I don’t like: the number of events. I would like to have more school events such as concerts, parties, sport competitions, different contests.

In my opinion, Saturday is the most difficult day. Because when all regions around us have only 5 weekdays, it’s difficult to study on Saturday, especially when you have 6 classes.

To conclude, I would like to say that I'm happy at my school and so are my classmates. And will remember with pleasure everything what I have had at school.

3. The place where I live.

There are many beautiful cities and towns in the world. I would like to visit some of them. But there is no place like home. I love my native city. I was born here and live with my parents. It’s not the capital, but it is a wonderful place to live.

My city is not old. It was founded in 1904. At that time its streets were narrow, dark and dirty. Now my city looks modern. The streets and avenues are wide and clean.

My city is famous for its library, cinema, concert hall, museum, stadium and a park, which is my favorite place because you can walk there with your friends or be with yourself listening to music.

After leaving school, and then after graduating the university I will certainly stay here, because I feel that my native city needs me. As the saying says: “East or West Home is Best”.

4. Foreign languages.

Learning a foreign language is not an easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts. Nowadays it is especially important to know foreign languages. Some people learn languages because they need them for their work, others travel abroad, for the third studying languages is a hobby.

I study English. Nowadays English has become the world's most important language in politics, science, trade and cultural relations. It is the language of computer technology. To know English today is absolutely necessary for every educated person, for every good specialist. I want to pass the exam this year to know my level.

To prepare for the exam I watched English films with subtitles, listened to English songs, read books in English and had extra course with my English teacher twice a week.

I think it is very important to speak at least one foreign language either English or German or French and Spanish or any other one. There is a saying: the more languages you speak, the more times you are a human being.

5. Pets.

 I’m going to give a talk about the problem of keeping a pet.

     A lot of people in Russia have pets at home. The most popular pets in big cities are cats, dogs, fish, parrots, rabbits and hamsters.

     Pets are especially good for lonely people and children. They bring you joy. Animals are our best friends. Some pets, for example cats and fish, help you to relax. Dogs can be useful for hunting, guarding a person or a house, they can even be a part of transport in the North.

     We are responsible for those whom we have tamed (приручили). Keeping a pet is not easy, because it becomes a member of your family and you must care about it. When you take a pet you must learn about its illnesses, feed and wash it, take it for a walk and play with it.

     In conclusion I should say that animal are our best friends and they make us better.

     That’s all I wanted to tell.

6. The Internet.

We can’t imagine our lives without the internet, computers and other gadgets, which unite all the users of World Wide Web. The internet is a very important source of information for people. Nowadays, you can find there any necessary information not only for education, or work but also for entertainment. Nowadays people communicate with each other, using the internet, social networks are very popular and people can’t imagine their lives without online communication.

But we must say, that using the internet has both advantages and disadvantages. The internet influences us very much, especially young people. There exist dozens of diseases that are the result of playing computer games, and spending too much time in networks. We do sport and walk less and less and spend time, sitting at a computer. Also, using a computer, there exist a possibility to become a victim of online fraudsters, which can try to steal your money.

Internet became so popular nowadays because people can use it not only at home, in the personal computer, but also they can go online, using their mobile web. So we can get any information we want, no matter, whether we are at home or not. And in addition, the price of such mobile web is not so expensive.

7. Holidays.

Now I’m going to give a talk about holidays.

Actually, there are a lot of popular public holidays in Russia. The major public holidays are: New Year’s Day, Day of the Defender of Motherland, Women’ Day, May Day, Victory Day and Independence Day. The first popular holiday of the year is New Year’s Day.

As for me, my favourite public holiday is New Year’s Day and my family celebrates it, because it is the most beautiful holiday in Russia. We usually put a New Year tree at home and decorate it with tinsel and toys. Besides, New Year’s Day is a family holiday, and all the members of our family celebrate it together. On New Year’s Day all our family eats tasty dishes, drink champagne and have fireworks. We usually dance, sing songs and watch TV. If there is snow, we also go out to play snowballs.

Of course, there is a tradition on New Year’s Day. It is putting presents under the New Year’s tree. At midnight everybody gets something. As for me, I prefer to give presents. It is because you can make your relatives and friends happier and feel happiness too.

In conclusion I’d like to say, that people need holidays, because on these days they can stay with their families and relax.
