Moby is a technology magazine that specializes in the latest gadgets and gizmos. It features descriptions and reviews of products such as MP3 players, smartphones, GPS devices and digital cameras. It mostly targets young people on the move who are looking for small mobile devices for commuting or for travel purposes. Recently it has also featured fold-up and electric bicycles, which are growing in popularity amongst young professionals.
Cycle touring is a great way to travel and see a country at your own pace and has been growing in popularity in recent years. Now, many tourist agencies and other commercial agencies around the world organise cycling holidays at very affordable prices. Some companies provide accommodation and route information to cyclists travelling independently, while others organise all-inclusive group trips that include guides, equipment and support.
The need and popularity of smartphones is growing day by day and currently almost 50% of adults in the USA have their own smartphone. In fact, smartphones have become the basic necessity of today’s society and people use smartphones to browse the Internet rather than using laptops or desktops. This is particularly true for travellers who no longer need to pack their laptop when going on a trip.
A lot of young people spend several hours each day playing computer games or using social network websites. Unfortunately, some have developed a serious addiction and the need to access a site and reply to messages is so strong that it can have a negative impact on the individual’s life and their ability to engage in other activities. Some young people can become agitated and irritable if not allowed access to the Internet or their favourite gadget.
With the recent rise in fuel prices many people who hadn’t been on a bike in a very long time are rediscovering the joys of the ‘little queen’, as the French call it. More than just a means of transport it has become a leisure activity for a huge number of people. And, why not? It’s the best way to explore both city and country. It’s rewarding, fun and, most important of all, it’s good for your health. Not to mention the fact that it is cheap and environmentally friendly.
TIN is an international magazine for young people in the final years of university who are looking to spend time abroad before starting their first job. It provides information on how to find summer and volunteer jobs around the world and gives travel advice and tips. One of the magazine most popular features is letter sent by people who are abroad describing their experience.
While there are disadvantages and even risks to social networking, there are also many advantages. Apart from keeping in touch with friends, young people can gain confidence and communication skills by interacting with others online while also improving their reading skills when sharing online material with others. It also helps kids to exchange ideas, opinions and knowledge with other kids, which they may find more difficult in face-to-face situations.
