Тема урока: “Saint Patrick's day”

     

     Цель урока: познакомить учащихся с мало известными праздниками и традициями Великобритании

     Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

  • введение и активизация лексики по теме "Saint Patrick's day"
  • развитие понимания иноязычной речи на слух
  • развитие умения понимать основное содержание прочитанного
  • умение обобщать и систематизировать полученные знания

Развивающие:

  • развитие любознательности, внимания, памяти, мышления
  • развитие умения представлять результаты своей деятельности
  • развитие интеллектуальной, эмоциональной и мотивационной сферы личности учащихся

Воспитательные:

  • повышение познавательного интереса к истории и традициям стран изучаемого языка
  • воспитание умения работать в парах и группах
  • воспитание коммуникативно-речевого такта, коммуникабельности

  4. доска

Ход урока

1. INTRODUCTION / WARM UP

Teacher: Good morning, children! How are you? I hope you are fine. There are a lot of merry holidays in Great Britain and America. What are they?

Pupils: Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving day, Saint Valentine's day, Halloween etc.

Teacher: Thank you. And today we have an excellent chance to learn about one more holiday. Please watch the film and try to guess. (Показ фильма)

Teacher: What is the theme of our lesson?

Pupils: Saint Patrick’s Day.

Teacher: Yes, you are right.  And all of you have a chance to plunge into the atmosphere of some fairy tale, to take part in virtual parade and to meet with leprechauns.  

2. VOCABULARY

На экране     символы праздника и слова к ним. Учитель показывает на картинку и произносит слово, учащиеся повторяют, учитель читает написанное слово, учащиеся повторяют. Затем учащиеся читают слова сами. Цель упражнения: научиться правильно произносить новые слова.

Форма работы: фронтальная.  

Teacher: Look at the screen. You can see some pictures with the symbols of the holiday there. Let's learn to pronounce and read them correctly. Listen and repeat the words after me. Now, read the words after me.

Now, Danila read all these words.  

   

3. WORK WITH PRESENTATION

Учитель опираясь на презентацию к уроку знакомит учащихся с атрибутами праздника.

Teacher: Well done. And now it's high time to meet with the holiday itself: its symbols, history and colour.  Look at the screen. Be very attentively, there will be a quiz at the end of our lesson.

После подробного знакомства с традициями праздника, учащиеся переходят к выполнению лексических упражнений.

4. WHILE READING

Teacher: Now you will read two texts about Saint Patrick’s Day. But first, let’s learn to pronounce and read some  phrases from the texts. Look at the screen. Read after me. (учащиеся читают хором за учителем)

Now, I’ll read in Russian and you will read in English. (уч-ся читают по-английски самостоятельно)

  Take  sheets of paper on your desks. There are 2 texts on the topic we study today. Your task is to read them and to put the words into the gaps. Please, work in pairs. You can   write  the words on this  sheet.
