Presidents' Day Washington's Birthday , also known as Presidents' Day , is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of February. The day honors presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the USA's first president and Abraham Lincoln, the USA16 th president.
Presidents' Day In the weeks or days leading up to the holiday, schools often organize events and lessons for students about the presidents of the United States and George Washington in particular.

George Washington was commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War (1775-83) and served two terms as the first U.S. president, from 1789 to 1797. video
George Washington During the American Revolution, he led the colonial forces to victory over the British and became a national hero. In 1787, he was elected president of the convention that wrote the U.S. Constitution.
