Глаголы, не имеющие форм Continuous Существует группа глаголов, которая никогда не употребляется во временах Continuous . Это глаголы чувственного восприятия, умственной деятельности, чувств, желания, принадлежности и некоторые другие . Вместо времен Continuous с такими глаголами употребляются времена группы Simple .
Глаголы эмоционального состояния: to wish - желать to desire - желать to want - хотеть to envy - завидовать to hate - ненавидеть to like - нравиться to love - любить to prefer - предпочитать to fear - бояться to need - нуждаться to satisfy - удовлетворять to seem - казаться
Глаголы мыслительной деятельности : to agree - соглашаться to believe - верить to deny - отрицать to doubt - сомневаться to expect - полагать to forget - забывать to know - знать to recognize - узнавать to remember - помнить to respect - уважать to suppose - предполагать to think - читать/полагать to understand - понимать
Глаголы ощущения: to hear - слышать to see - видеть to taste - иметь вкус to smell - пахнуть
Глаголы обладания, отношения to be - быть to consist - состоять to belong - принадлежать to contain - содержать to have - иметь to include - заключать в себе to possess - обладать to own - владеть и др.
И сключение Однако из данного правила есть исключение. Некоторые глаголы могут передавать значение, как длительности, так и состояния (в зависимости от смысла, который хочет передать говорящий).
Исключение Глагол Употребляется в форме Simple Употребляется в форме Continuous to hear to see to smell to taste to think слышать видеть/понимать пахнуть иметь вкус считать/полагать получать известие смотреть, встречаться нюхать пробовать на вкус размышлять/думать
Исключение I am thinking of you now . Сейчас я думаю о тебе. I think you are very tired . Думаю (полагаю), ты очень устал. Если действие присуще подлежащему только в данный момент (период времени), то используется Present Continuous : You are being impatient . Ты так нетерпелив. (обычно терпелив, а сейчас нет )
Исключение Глагол to have употребляется во временах Continuous только в сочетании с некоторыми существительными, с которыми он образует смысловое целое: Не was having dinner when I came . Он обедал, когда я пришел. Примечание: Иногда глаголы, обычно не употребляющиеся в форме Continuous , могут использоваться в этой форме для придания сильной эмоциональной выразительности: I am hating this country . Я ненавижу эту страну.
