МЕТОДИЧЕСКАЯ РАЗРАБОТКА ДЛЯ ПОДГОТОВКИ К УСТНОЙ ЧАСТИ ОГЭ (ЗАДАНИЕ №3)

Данная методическая разработка составлена учителем высшей категории на основе языкового материала программ Spotlight, Enterprise, Starlight с целью помочь учителю в подготовке учащихся 9 класса к выполнению 3 задания устной части ОГЭ. Микротексты представляют собой монологические высказывания звучанием 1,5-2 минуты. Весь материал построен в соответствии с заданиями открытого банка ОГЭ 2016-2017 учебного года.

«SEASONS»

 You are going to give a talk about weather and seasons. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

• which of the four seasons you like most, and why;
• how the Earth’s climate has changed recently;
• whether you trust the weather forecast, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about seasons.

There are four seasons of the year: winter, spring, summer and autumn. In Russia we have them all. I think that each of the four seasons has its charm but summer is my favourite season. The weather is warm and sunny. We don’t have to go to school. We can swim, go sunbathing, travel and have a lot of fun.

The Earth's climate has changed greatly recently. The world is getting hotter. Because of the greenhouse gas winters have become warmer; there can be little snow in January. Besides, it can even rain in winter. These changes can be dangerous for our planet.

On TV and radio there are daily weather forecasts. Sometimes, the forecast is not quite right. I don’t think that most people trust them. Neither do I. I strongly believe that the weather is not an easy thing to forecast.

All in all, I think that our mood shouldn’t depend on the season or weather.  

«Future profession»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about your career plans. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say

·         what job you want to do in the future;

·         what two subjects you think are the most important for your future job, and why;

·         whether your family approve of your career choice or not.

I'd like to give a talk about my career plans. I think it is not an easy thing to choose one profession out of thousands.

It is very important to have an interesting job. Personally, I want to be an interpreter. Firstly, this job will match my interests because I’m fond of English. Besides, it is a well-paid job with a lot of opportunities for promotion.

I think that interpreters should be good at most school subjects. But the most important subjects for them are English and other foreign languages. The more languages you know, the more career opportunities you will have.

As for my parents, they absolutely approve of my choice. They believe that this profession will suit me and give me a chance to meet a lot of interesting people and travel around the world.

All in all, I have two more years to make up my mind, so I may change my plans. Thank you for listening.

«Future profession 1»

«School homework»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about your school homework. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

• how long it takes you to do your homework;
• what subject you usually start with, and why;
• whether schoolchildren should be given more or less homework, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about  my school homework.

This year we have quite a lot of homework to do as we are preparing for our exams. It usually takes me two or three hours to do all the tasks. Besides, I spend one more hour doing some extra exercises or tests.

I usually start with English. It is quite easy for me and doesn’t take much time. Besides, it’s one of my favourite subjects and I’m interested in the tasks.

I think that students are given too much homework. It’s quite difficult to do all the tasks properly. Besides, I think it’s more important to concentrate on the subjects you need for your future profession.

All in all, I think that homework is an important part of the process of studying but it shouldn’t take too much time.

 «Pets»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about pets. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         why people keep pets;

·         what pets are most popular in big cities;

·         whether having pets is a big responsibility, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about pets. I strongly believe that without pets our life wouldn’t be so nice.

People keep pets for different reasons. First of all, pets make wonderful companions, especially for children. Besides, some people earn money breeding dogs, cats and other pets. But most people keep pets simply because they love them.

It’s quite difficult to keep a pet if you live in a big city; people are very busy and come home late. So, it's better to keep pets that don’t need much care: parrots, fish, and hamsters. Cats are also very popular.

Certainly, having pets is a big responsibility. You should pay a lot of attention to them. Pets need to be fed, washed, taken to the vet regularly. If you keep a dog you should take it for walks at least two times a day.

All in all, having a pet can be tiring. But you get so much love from them that it's worth trying.

«Foreign languages»

 You are going to give a talk about foreign languages. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         why lots of people learn foreign languages nowadays;        

·         why you have chosen to do the English exam this year;

·         what you did to prepare for your English exam.

I'd like to give a talk about foreign languages. I think it is a topical question of the present and is part and parcel of our life. Being an educated person means knowing at least one foreign language.

People learn foreign languages for different reasons. The most important reason is communication. More and more people travel abroad and the knowledge of a foreign language helps them communicate.  Besides, leaning a foreign language can help you find a good job.

I have been learning English since I was 8 and it’s one of my favourite subjects at school. More than that, I am also thinking of choosing English as my future career. That’s why I’ve chosen to do the English exam this year.

Preparing for the exam was a hard process. I tried to do my best.  I read a lot of texts, did grammar and vocabulary tests, learnt new words, wrote personal letters.

All in all, learning foreign languages is a very important process and I am glad that people realise it.  That's where I'd like to end.

«The Internet »

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about the Internet. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         why today’s teenagers use the Internet so much;

·         how the Internet makes long-distance communication easier;

·         what dangers teenagers can face when they use the Internet.

You have to talk continuously.

I'd like to give a talk about the Internet.

Modern teenagers can’t imagine their life without the Internet. They use the Internet for different purposes. Thanks to the Internet, they can watch films online, listen to and download music, do on-line shopping.  They also chat with friends all over the world.

The Internet makes long-distance communication easier. Thanks to e-mail we can send a letter to our friends and the letter will be delivered in a few seconds. Social nets, like Facebook or Vkontakte help people stay in touch with all their friends from different places.

However, teenagers can face some dangers when they use the Internet. For example, some web sites are not suitable for them. Also, when you make friends on the Net, you never know who these people are; they might be frauds.

All in all, the Internet has both good and bad points and we have to make the best possible use of it. That’s where I’d like to end.

«THE INTERNET 1»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about the Internet. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

·         why using the Internet is so popular;

·         how the Internet can help students in their studies;

·         whether the Internet can be dangerous, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about the Internet. I think it is a topical question of the present and is part and parcel of our life. Most people can’t imagine their life without the Internet.

  No wonder, the Internet has become so popular. Firstly, it is the fastest and greatest source of information and entertainment. Besides, thanks to the Internet, we can watch films online, listen to music, and do on-line shopping. More than that, we can make friends all over the world.

The role of the Internet in students' life is hard to overestimate (переоценить). They browse the Net to find necessary information for their presentations and reports.  Due to the Internet they can also improve their knowledge of foreign languages by watching films, doing online tests, communicating with native speakers.

However, the Internet can be dangerous, especially for small children and teenagers. For example, some web sites are not suitable for children. Also, when you make friends on the Net, you never know who these people are; they might turn out to be frauds (мошенники).

All in all, the Internet has both good and bad points and we have to make the best possible use of it. That’s where I’d like to end.

«The place where I live »

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about the place where you live. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         what your city, town or village is famous for;

·         what your favourite place in your city, town or village is, and why you like it;

·         whether you are going to stay in your city, town or village after leaving school or move to another place, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about my native town. I think the place where you live has a special meaning in everybody’s life.

I live in a small provincial town Likhoslavl which is located in Tver region between Moscow and St. Petersburg. It can’t boast of any unusual sights or tourist attractions. But Likhoslavl is a very green and clean town with friendly people.

There are some places in my town popular with the locals. As for me, my favourite place is our town park. It is especially attractive in summer when there are a lot of flowers and people can enjoy themselves sitting on the benches, looking at the fountain and relaxing.

Although I love my town, I’m not going to stay here after leaving school. I hope that I will move to Moscow because I want to enter a university. Besides, a big city can offer more career opportunities.

All in all, I believe that my native town will always be in my heart. That’s where I’d like to stop/

«Holidays »

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about holidays. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         what holidays are most popular in your country;

·         what your favourite holiday is and how you celebrate it;

·         if you prefer to give presents or to get presents, and why. 

You have to talk continuously.

I'd like to give a talk about holidays in Russia. Russians enjoy their holidays and celebrate them with a lot of food, presents and in big companies of relatives and friends.

 There are three types of holidays in Russia: public holidays, family holidays and religious holidays. I think that New Year's Day is the major holiday for many Russians. Both adults and children always look forward to it and believe that some miracle might happen on this day.

As for me, one of my favourite holidays is Victory Day. I strongly believe that this day is very important for any citizen of our country. We always celebrate this holiday in my family. Firstly, we take part in the parade and give red carnations to the veterans. Besides, we have a special festive dinner and in the evening we usually watch a fireworks display.

Most people like holidays because there is a wonderful tradition to give presents to their dearest and nearest. As for me, I prefer to give presents, because seeing that your present makes somebody surprised and pleased is great.

All in all,  I think that holidays are important because they connect people and give them an opportunity to have fun and enjoy themselves.

«PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN RUSSIA»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about public holidays in Russia. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

• what public holidays are celebrated in Russia;
• what your favourite public holiday is, and why you like it;
• how your favourite public holiday is celebrated in your city, town or village.

I'd like to give a talk about public holidays in Russia. Russians enjoy their holidays and celebrate them with a lot of food, presents and in big companies of relatives and friends.

Public holidays in Russia include Constitution Day, New Year's Day, the International Women's Day, May Day, Victory Day and Independence Day. State organisations, banks and companies do not work on these days. People spend holiday time with their families and friends and have the time of their life.

One of my favourite public holidays is Victory Day. I strongly believe that this day has a special meaning for any citizen of our country, because there isn’t a single family in Russia whose members didn’t suffer in this bloodiest war.

This holiday is always widely celebrated in my town. People take part in the parade; students sing wartime songs and read poetry. Also, there is a great tradition to give red carnations to the veterans and lay flowers at the war memorial sites.

All in all,  I think that holidays are important because they connect people and give them an opportunity to have fun and enjoy themselves.

«Travelling»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about travelling. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         why most people like travelling;

·         which season is the best for travelling in your opinion;

·         what means of transport is the best, and why.

I'd like to give a talk about travelling. I think that most of us can’t imagine our life without it.

People enjoy travelling for different reasons. Firstly, travelling gives you a chance to meet new people, to learn about their customs and traditions. Besides, it is a wonderful opportunity to practise the language you learn. But most people simply like getting new life experience.

I believe that travelling is great in any season. It depends on what you like doing while travelling. If you enjoy skiing and snowboarding –you should choose winter. If you are fond of beach holidays, then you’d better travel in summer.

People travel by different means of transport: by car, by plane, by ship. Personally, I think that travelling by plane is the best, because it is fast and comfortable. Besides, it is the safest way of travelling.

All in all, I believe that travelling is a wonderful way both to relax and to broaden your mind . That's where I'd like to end.

«FREE TIME»

I'd like to give a talk about free time. I think it is very important to have a little time for your hobbies.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much free time this year as I have been preparing for my exams. Besides, we get a lot of homework to do. So, I have only a couple of hours a day for the things I like.

Like most modern teenagers, I’m fond of surfing the net when I have free time.  I also like reading books and listening to music. Besides, I can't imagine my life without my friends; we spend so much time together.

I spend my Sunday afternoons in different ways. Sometimes I stay at home and help my mum with the housework. Once a month I go to the cinema with my friends. Then we usually have a snack in a café and do the shopping. We always have a great time.

All in all, I believe that it's necessary to have free time in order to relax and to enjoy your favourite activities.

«TV»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about TV. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

·         whether watching TV is still a popular pastime with teenagers, and why, or why not;

·         how many hours a week you watch TV;

·         what you dislike most about TV.

I'd like to give a talk about TV. I think that nothing will replace TV in the near future.

Millions of teenagers all over the world watch TV every day. Though the Internet is getting more and more popular with teens, TV also remains a very important kind of mass media. If you don’t have money to pay for the Internet, you can watch films and listen to music on TV.

As for me, I like watching TV, but I don’t spend much time on it. I usually watch TV in the evening and at the weekend. It is about 10 or 12 hours a week.

I should say that there are quite a lot of silly programs on TV: endless soap operas, reality shows and talk shows where people discuss strange problems. Watching them is a waste of time.

All in all, it's impossible to live without television, despite (несмотря на) its disadvantages. Thank you for listening.

« Photography »

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about photography. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes.

• why taking photos is more popular today than it was in the past

I'd like to give a talk about photography.

Photography is getting more and more popular today. Most of my friends and classmates have cameras in their mobiles and they take photos of everything they like. Taking photos helps us save the most precious things in life — our memories, which can always be with us when we look at this or that picture.

Today taking photos is more popular than it was in the past because cameras are less expensive and many people can afford them. Also, there are a lot of social networks, for example Facebook or Vkontakte where people post photos and share them with friends.

Personally, I have one really great photo. It was taken last summer at the seaside. You can see my parents and me on it. We are sunbathing on a fantastic beach.  The sun is shining and we are happy.

All in all, photos give us a chance to return to the happiest moments of our life.

«Books»

Task 3. You are going to give a talk about books. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes.

Remember to say:

• whether reading is still popular with teenagers, and why, or why not;
• what kind of books you like reading;
• why many people prefer e-books to paper books.

I'd like to give a talk about books. I strongly believe that reading is one of the best habits a person can have.

Unfortunately, reading is not so popular with modern teenagers anymore. Television and the Internet have almost replaced books because these resources can provide us with all necessary information much faster.

As for me, I enjoy reading books. One of my favourite genres is fantasy. When I read fantasy stories, I lose touch with reality and immerse into magic world of dragons, witches and other mythical creatures.

Modern technologies made it possible for us to use electronic readers instead of paper books and a lot of people find electronic readers more convenient as you do not have to carry a thick book in your bag. Besides, you may also keep pictures and even music files on it. In addition, it is much cheaper and environmentally-friendly.

All in all, I firmly believe that reading books makes our life more interesting and every time I have a chance I take my favourite book and explore another wonderful world.

I'd like to give a talk about  my school. I strongly believe that school years are the most important period for everybody because we get basic education here.

I study in the 9th form in a co-educational state school. Our school is famous for its high-quality education, so our teachers are what I like most about my school. Firstly, they provide the students with a profound knowledge (основательное знание) of their subjects. Besides, they always support and inspire us.

Although I like studying, I find some of the weekdays quite difficult. The hardest day for me is Monday because we have 7 lessons on this day. More than that, we have a lesson of History on Monday and I’m not good at it.

I think that our school is great but there is one thing I’d like to change about it. I wish we had more after-school activities, for example a drama club or a foreign language studio.

All in all, I am really glad that I am one of the students of this school and I am sure that I will always remember my school years.
